Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan penggunaan sumber belajar kartu kuartet dan ular tangga terhadap hasil belajar dan motivasi siswa SMP. Lemahnya motivasi belajar siswa dapat melemahkan kegiatan belajar siswa dan akan menyebabkan mutu hasil belajarnya juga rendah. Oleh karena itu, agar siswa memiliki motivasi belajar yang kuat, maka harus diciptakan suasana belajar yang menggembirakan. Usaha yang dapat dilakukan salah satunya adalah dengan mengembangkan sumber belajar yang menyenangkan untuk siswa. Dalam hal ini sumber belajar yang digunakan adalah permainan kartu kuartet dan permainan ular tangga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental dengan desain Nonequivalent Pretest Posttest Design. Hasil analisis perbandingan hasil belajar siswa secara keseluruhan dengan menggunakan uji U Mann Whitney menunjukkan adanya perbedaan secara signifikan antara kelas sumber belajar permainan kartu kuartet dan kelas permainan ular tangga. Hasil belajar kelas sumber belajar permainan kartu kuartet lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas permainan ular tangga. Hasil analisis motivasi belajar siswa secara keseluruhan tidak menunjukan perbedaan yang berarti. Motivasi belajar dari kedua kelas penelitian berada pada kategori cukup baik. Adanya perbedaan hasil belajar dan tidak adanya perbedaan motivasi belajar siswa ini berkaitan dengan penyajian sumber belajar yang berbeda. Sumber belajar permainan kartu kuartet dan permainan ular tangga memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing. Kata kunci: Sumber belajar, kartu kuartet, ular tangga, hasil belajar, motivasi belajar. The purpose of this study was to compare the use of quartet cards and snakes and ladders learning resources on learning outcomes and motivation of junior high school students. Students’ low motivation can weaken the students’ learning activities and will lead to the low quality of learning outcomes as well. So, a fun learning environment should be created to motivate the students to learn. In this study, the learning resources used were quartet cards and snakes and ladders game. A Quasi Experimental - Nonequivalent pretest posttest design was used as the research method. The results of comparative analysis of the students' learning outcomes were gained by using the U Mann Whitney test showed a significant difference between the class with learning resources of quartet cards and snakes and ladders game. The results showed that students’ scores of quartet cards learning resources were higher than snakes and ladders game. The results of the analysis of the students’ motivation showed no significant difference between those classes. Students’ motivation of the second class was pretty good. The big difference in learning outcomes and the absence of differences of students’ motivation were related to the presentation of different instructional learning resources. Thus, quartet cards and snakes and ladders game have its own advantages and disadvantages. Key words: learning resources, quartet cards, snakes and ladders, learning outcomes, learning motivation.
