Abstract

Penguasaan konsep merupakan kemampuan peserta didik dalam memahami dan menguasai materi pembelajaran baik secara teori maupun aplikasinya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Karakter mandiri adalah watak, akhlak, budi pekerti, dan kepribadian seorang individu yang mampu berdiri sendiri, melakukan segala aktivitas hidupnya sendiri tanpa mudah bergantung pada bantuan orang lain dalam menyelesaikan berbagai hal maupun tugasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran RADEC terhadap penguasaan konsep dan karakter mandiri peserta didik kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Quasi Experimental Designs dengan jenis rancangan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Penelitian dilakukan di salah satu SD Negeri Kabupaten Ogan Ilir terhadap 38 orang peserta didik kelas V sebagai subjek penelitian. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa soal tes uraian untuk mengukur penguasaan konsep, angket untuk mengukur karakter mandiri, dan lembar observasi untuk menilai kinerja guru serta aktivitas peserta didik dalam model pembelajaran RADEC. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data pretest dan posttest, penguasaan konsep peserta didik mengalami peningkatan awalnya didapatkan nilai rerata 38.89 menjadi 60.32 setelah penerapan model pembelajaran RADEC. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada penguasaan konsep peserta didik setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran RADEC. Hasil analisis data pretest dan posttest, karakter mandiri peserta didik mengalami peningkatan awalnya didapatkan nilai rerata 69.42 menjadi 80.95. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran RADEC memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap penguasaan konsep dan karakter mandiri peserta didik kelas V. Adapun rekomendasi dari penelitian ini dapat meneliti berbagai aspek kognitif dan afektif lainnya, lebih lanjut pada program pendidikan karakter mandiri secara khusus melalui model pembelajaran RADEC. Concept mastery refers to students' ability to understand and grasp learning material both theoretically and practically in everyday life. Independent character denotes the character, morals, manners, and personality of an individual who can stand on their own, perform all life activities independently, and not easily rely on others' assistance to complete various tasks. This study aims to examine the influence of the RADEC learning model on the concept mastery and independent character of fifth-grade elementary school students. The research method used is Quasi Experimental Designs with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study was conducted in a public elementary school in Ogan Ilir Regency, involving 38 fifth-grade students as research subjects. The research instruments included essay test questions to measure concept mastery, questionnaires to assess independent character, and observation sheets to evaluate teacher performance and student activities within the RADEC learning model. Based on the analysis of pretest and posttest data, students' concept mastery improved from an initial average score of 38.89 to 60.32 after the implementation of the RADEC learning model. These results indicate a significant impact on students' concept mastery following the application of the RADEC learning model. Furthermore, the analysis of pretest and posttest data on students' independent character revealed an increase from an initial average score of 69.42 to 80.95. Thus, it can be concluded that the RADEC learning model significantly influences both the concept mastery and independent character of fifth-grade students. This study recommends further research on various other cognitive and affective aspects, particularly in character education programs through the RADEC learning model.
