Abstract

----- This research examines the effect of the game base learning (GBL) method through the Prodigy Math Game on improving the arithmetic abilities of fifth grade elementary school students. With a quasi-experimental approach and Nonequivalent Control Group design, this study compares the effectiveness of GBL with traditional methods. The sample consisted of an experimental group that used the Prodigy Math Game and a control group that used traditional methods in learning arithmetic. Pretest and posttest data were analyzed to measure the increase in students' arithmetic abilities. The results showed a significant increase in the arithmetic abilities of students in the experimental group compared to the control group. This indicates that GBL through the Prodigy Math Game is effective in improving elementary school students' mathematics learning outcomes. In addition, the integration of game elements in learning increases student motivation, engagement and participation. These findings contribute to the development of innovative and relevant learning methods in the digital era. It is recommended that educators consider GBL as an alternative strategy in teaching mathematics to improve the quality of education and provide an enjoyable learning experience for students.
