Abstract

Kemampuan menulis merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang kompleks, karena harus menguasai kemampuan menyimak, berbicara, dan menulis. Pembelajaran menulis teks cerpen dianggap sangat sulit, siswa merasa kesulitan dalam menentukan dan mengembangkan ide deskripsi awal cerita dalam menulis. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, diperlukan adanya inovasi metode pembelajaran yang tepat. Inovasi tersebut salah satunya dengan menggunakan metode CIRC berbantuan aplikasi Canva. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan adanya perbedaan kemampuan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas XI sebelum dan sesudah menerapkan metode CIRC berbantuan aplikasi Canva. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalent control group design dengan sampel peneliitian siswa kelas XI di SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI tahun ajaran 2023/2024 dengan 31 siswa di kelas XI-2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan 29 siswa di kelas XI-1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian ini menggunakan perhitungan statistik dengan uji Wilcoxon Rank yang menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,005 atau kurang dari 0,005. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil kemampuan menulis teks cerpen menggunakan metode CIRC berbantuan aplikasi Canva dan kemampuan menulis teks cerpen menggunakan metode terlangsung. Writing ability is one of the complex language skills, because you must master the skills of listening, speaking and writing. Learning to write short story texts is considered very difficult, students find it difficult to determine and develop initial story description ideas in writing. Based on this background, innovation in appropriate learning methods is needed. One of these innovations is using the CIRC method assisted by the Canva application. This research aims to prove that there are differences in class XI students' ability to write short story texts before and after applying the CIRC method assisted by the Canva application. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design with a research sample of class XI students at the UPI Pilot Laboratory High School for the 2023/2024 academic year with 31 students in class 1 as the control class. The results of this study used statistical calculations with the Wilcoxon Rank test which showed a significance value of 0.005 or less than 0.005. Therefore, it can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means there is a significant difference between the results of the ability to write short story texts using the CIRC method assisted by the Canva application and the ability to write short story texts using the direct method.
