Abstract
Keterampilan membaca merupakan salah satu keterampilan berbahasa yang wajib dikuasai ketika menempuh pendidikan awal yaitu jenjang Sekolah Dasar. Ketidakmampuan siswa dalam menguasai keterampilan membaca dapat mengakibatkan sulitnya siswa saat mengikuti proses pembelajaran pada semua mata pelajaran. Siswa yang mengalami kesulitan membaca juga memiliki hasil belajar yang lebih rendah dibandingkan siswa yang tidak mengalami kesulitan membaca. Memiliki keterampilan berbahasa khususnya membaca ini sangat penting dalam proses Pendidikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan metode suku kata (syllabic method) berbantuan media big book digital dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa serta untuk mengetahui hasil penerapan metode suku kata (syllabic method) berbantuan media big book digital dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Research). Penelitian Tindakan kelas dipilih pada penelitian ini karena merupakan penelitian terapan sehingga hasil penelitian lebih banyak memberi manfaat praktis dan nyata. Hasil keterampilan membaca permulan siswa di kelas II berdasarkan seluruh data yang dikumpulkan mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus I hanya mencapai 64% dengan rata-rata 87,52 dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 88% dengan rata-rata 92,8. Hasil penerapan metode suku kata (syllabic method) berbantuan media big book digital dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca permulaan siswa mengalami peningkatan yang lebih baik dari sebelum adanya penerapan. ----- Reading skills are one of the language skills that must be mastered when pursuing early education, namely the elementary school level. Students' inability to master reading skills can result in difficulties for students when following the learning process in all subjects. Students who have reading difficulties also have lower learning outcomes than students who do not have reading difficulties. Having language skills, especially reading, is very important in the educational process. The purpose of this study is to find out how the application of the syllabic method assisted by digital big book media in improving students' initial reading skills and to find out the results of the application of the syllabic method assisted by digital big book media in improving students' initial reading skills This research uses the Classroom Action Research method. Classroom action research was chosen in this study because is a applied research so that the research results provide more practical and tangible benefits. The results of students' reading skills in grade II based on all the data collected have improved. In the first cycle, it only reached 64% with an average of 87.52 and increased in the second cycle to 88% with an average of 92.8. The results of the application of the syllable method (syllabic method) assisted by digital big book media in improving students' initial reading skills have improved better than before the implementation.
