Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa pada pembelajaran IPA khususnya pada materi sistem peredaran darah manusia. Berdasarkan penelitian terdahulu serta observasi awal, ditemukan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi tersebut masih ada pada kriteria rendah. Dimana siswa tidak mampu menyebutkan organ peredaran darah manusia beserta fungsi dan bagiannya serta siswa kesulitan dalam membedakan sistem peredaran darah manusia. Pada penelitian ini peneliti menerapkan model ARIAS untuk diketahui efektivitasnya terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi sistem peredaran darah manusia. Model ARIAS merupakan model pembelajaran yang dirancang untuk menanamkan rasa yakin serta menumbuhkan minat pada siswa dalam upaya meningkatkan pemahamannya yang terdiri dari tahapan assurance, relevance, interest, assessment dan satisfaction. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif desain pre-eksperimen one group pretest-post-test. Sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu 28 siswa kelas 5 di salah satu SD di Kota Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu soal tes berupa soal pilihan ganda dan isian. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis dan uji n-gain. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, rata-rata hasil pre-test dan post-test mengalami peningkatan yaitu dari 50,21 menjadi 75,68. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis, diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 yang artinya H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima serta menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa yang siginifikan. Dalam uji N-Gain diperoleh skor N-Gain sebesar 0,55 yang berarti skor N-Gain berada pada kategori “sedang”. Sedangkan nilai n-gain persen sebesar 55,37 menunjukkan bahwa kriteria tafsiran efektivitas berada pada tafsiran “Cukup Efektif”. This research was motivated by the low ability of students' concept understanding in science learning, especially in the material of the Human Blood Circulatory System. Based on previous research and observations, it was found that students' concept understanding abilities were still at low criteria. Where students are unable to mention human circulatory organs with their functions and parts and students have difficulty in distinguishing human circulatory system. This researcher used ARIAS model to determine effectiveness on students' concept understanding ability on material of Human Blood Circulatory System. The ARIAS model is a learning model designed to instill confidence in students in an effort to improve their understanding which consists of assurance, relevance, interest, assessment and satisfaction. This research used a quantitative approach of one group pretest-post-test pre-experiment design. The sample in this study was 28 5th grade students in one of the elementary schools in Bandung City. The instrument used was a test question. Data analysis used is normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test and n-gain test. Based on the data obtained, the average pre-test and post-test results increased from 50.21 to 75.68. Based on the hypothesis test, a significance value of 0.000 <0.05 was obtained, which means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted and shows that there is a significant increase. The N-Gain score was 0.55, which means that the N-Gain score is in the "medium" category. While the N-gain percent value of 55.37 indicates that the effectiveness interpretation criteria are in the "Moderately Effective".
