Abstract
Membaca merupakan salah satu aspek keterampilan berbahasa yang harus dikuasai. Kegiatan membaca harus disertai dengan pemahaman, tujuan membaca pemahaman adalah untuk mendapatkan sebuah pengetahuan baru. Penyebab rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman menjadi dasar dilakukannya penelitian ini. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CIRC dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks narasi siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar dan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks narasi siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CIRC. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equavalent pre-test post-test control group dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 39 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan merupakan instrumen tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengaruh model pembelajaran CIRC sebesar 71,2%. Hasil uji N-Gain berada pada kualifikasi sedang dengan interpretasi cukup efektif, sementara pada kelas kontrol berada pada kualifikasi sedang dengan interpretasi tidak efektif. Hal ini berarti penggunaan model pembelajaran CIRC lebih baik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman teks narasi, dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif. Peneliti merekomendasikan untuk penelitian selanjutnya menggunakan jenis teks yang berbeda. ----- Reading is one aspect of language skills that must be mastered. Reading activities must be accompanied by understanding, the purpose of reading comprehension is to gain new knowledge. The cause of low reading comprehension skills is the basis for this research. The research aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning model type CIRC in improving the ability to read comprehension of narrative text of fourth grade elementary school students and also to determine the improvement of students' ability to read comprehension of narrative text by using cooperative learning model type CIRC. The research was conducted using quasi-experimental research method with non-equivalent pre-test post-test control group design with 39 students. The instruments used were tes, observation and documentation. The results showed that the effect of the CIRC learning model was 71.2%. The results of the N-Gain test are in moderate qualifications with moderately effective interpretations, while in the control class are in moderate qualifications with ineffective interpretations. This means that the use of the CIRC learning model is better in improving the ability to read comprehension of narrative text, compared to the cooperative learning model. The researcher recommends for further research using different type of text.
