Abstract
Penelitian ini didasari oleh rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman pada siswa sekolah dasar. Salah satu penyebab rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman adalah penerapan model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru di dalam kelas belum menekankan pada keaktifan siswa. Solusi yang dapat memperbaiki kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa adalah dengan menerapkan model Student Team Achievement Division berbantuan media flipbook. Tujuan penelitian ini diantaranya untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan peningkatan model kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Division terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman sekolah dasar pada materi teks nonfiksi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 44 orang dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pada penelitian ini, teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes dan non tes. Teknik tes yang digunakan yaitu dengan melakukan pretest dan posttest ¬untuk mengetahui kemampuan membaca pemahaman, sedangkan teknik non tes yang digunakan yaitu observasi dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang sudah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar yang mendapatkan model Student Team Achievement Division lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang mendapatkan model Problem Based Learning. Dengan demikian, model Student Team Achievement Division berbantuan media flipbook dapat dijadikan alternatif dalam pembelajaran khususnya dalam peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman agar pembelajaran yang dilakukan dapat lebih bermakna. ----- This research is based on the low reading comprehension skills of elementary school students. One of the causes of low reading comprehension skills is the application of the learning model used by teachers in the classroom has not emphasized student activeness. The solution that can improve students' reading comprehension skills is to apply the Student Team Achievement Division model assisted by flipbook media. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect and improvement of the Student Teams Achievement Division type cooperative model on elementary school reading comprehension skills on nonfiction text material. The research method used was quasi experiment with non-equivalent control group design. The number of samples used was 44 people using purposive sampling technique. In this study, data collection techniques used test and non-test techniques. The test technique used is by conducting pretests and posttests to determine reading comprehension skills, while the non-test techniques used are observation and documentation. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it shows that the improvement of reading comprehension skills of elementary school students who get the Student Team Achievement Division model is better than students who get the Problem Based Learning model. Thus, the Student Team Achievement Division model assisted by flipbook media can be used as an alternative in learning.
