Abstract
Rendahnya penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa fase B yang diperoleh siswa kelas IV dari 28 siswa sebanyak 18 siswa belum mampu mencapai ketuntasan nilai menjadi latar belakang penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model kooperatif tipe make a match dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa fase B sekolah dasar. Model kooperatif tipe make a match dipilih sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris karena dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami materi dengan cara yang menyenangkan dengan memasangkan kartu. Adapun metode yang digunakan yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas dengan model yang dikemukakan oleh Kemmis dan McTaggart dan dilaksanakan selama tiga siklus. Data diolah secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan didapatkan bahwa (1) Perencanaan pelaksanaan pembelajaran dilakukan dengan menyusun modul ajar yang menerapkan sintaks model kooperatif tipe make a match, media pembelajaran power point “What Are You Doing?”, power point “Match The Card”, activity card A, activity card B, alat ajar berupa LKPD dan menyusun lembar penilaian. (2) Proses pembelajaran dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan model kooperatif tipe make a match yang membuat siswa bersemangat dan senang dalam menguasai kosakata Bahasa Inggris. (3) Penerapan model kooperatif tipe make a match dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa fase B sekolah dasar dalam materi activity dengan hasil akhir sebanyak 93% peserta didik mampu mencapai ketuntasan belajar dan pemerolehan N-Gain dengan kategori sedang. Kesimpulan yang didapatkan adalah penerapan model kooperatif tipe make a match dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kosakata Bahasa Inggris siswa fase B sekolah dasar. The low mastery of English vocabulary among phase B students, as evidenced by the fact that 18 out of 28 fourth-grade students have not achieved the required proficiency level, is the background of this research. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the cooperative learning model type Make a Match in improving the English vocabulary mastery of phase B elementary school students. The Make a Match cooperative learning model was chosen as a solution because it can help students understand the material in an enjoyable way by pairing cards. The method used is classroom action research, following the model proposed by Kemmis and McTaggart, conducted over three cycles. Data were processed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Based on the research findings, it was found that (1) The lesson planning was carried out by preparing teaching modules that apply the Make a Match cooperative model syntax, learning media such as the "What Are You Doing?" PowerPoint, the "Match The Card" PowerPoint, activity card A, activity card B, teaching tools like LKPD, and assessment sheets. (2) The learning process was implemented by applying the Make a Match cooperative model, which made students enthusiastic and happy in mastering English vocabulary. (3) The implementation of the Make a Match cooperative model can improve the English vocabulary mastery of phase B elementary school students in the activity material, with the final result showing that 93% of the students achieved learning mastery and obtained a medium category N-Gain. The conclusion drawn is that the implementation of the Make a Match cooperative learning model can improve the English vocabulary mastery of phase B elementary school students.
