    Abstract

    Latar belakang adanya penelitian ini adalah kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis khususnya dalam menulis teks deskripsi. Banyak siswa yang merasa kesulitan dalam menuangkan gagasannya ke dalam tulisan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks deskripsi sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan model Picture Word Inductive, serta perbedaan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks dekripsi sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan model Picture Word Inductive. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen, dengan desain one group pretest-postest design. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ada tiga hal yang dapat dideskripsikan. Pertama, kemampuan siswa sebelum menggunakan model Picture Word Inductive termasuk dalam kategori kurang dengan rata-rata nilai 50,84. Kedua, kemampuan siswa sesudah menggunakan model Picture Word Inductive termasuk dalam kategori baik dengan rata-rata nilai 80. Ketiga, ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model Picture Word Inductive. Perbedaannya 29,16. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis dari penelitian ini, hasilnya adalah Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) <0.001 atau <0,05. Artinya terdapat beda yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa kelas VIII-I SMP Negeri 9 Bandung Semester Genap Taun Ajar 2023/2024 dalam menulis teks deskripsi sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model Picture Word Inductive. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model Picture Word Inductive efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks deskripsi.

    The background of this research is the lack of students' ability in learning writing, especially in writing description text. Many students find it difficult to put their ideas into writing. The purpose of this study is to describe students' ability to write descriptive text before and after the Picture Word Inductive model is applied, as well as the difference in students' ability to write decryption text before and after the Picture Word Inductive model is applied. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method, by one group pretest-postest design. Based on the results of the study, there are three things that can be described. First, students' abilities before using the Picture Word Inductive model were included in the “Less” category with an average score of 50.84. Second, students' ability after using Picture Word Inductive model is included in the “Good” category with an average score of 80. Third, there is a significant difference between students' ability before and after using Picture Word Inductive model. The difference is 29.16. Based on the hypothesis test of this study, the result is Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) <0.001 or <0.05. It means that there is a significant difference between the ability of students in class VIII-I SMP Negeri 9 Bandung even semester of academic year 2023/2024 in writing description text before and after using Picture Word Inductive (PWI) model. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Picture Word Inductive model is effective for improving students' ability to write description texts.

Dina ieu panalungtikan ngagunakeun pamarekan kuantitatif, kalayan métodeu kuasi ékspérimén nu didesain ngagunakeun one group pretest-posttest design. Hasil ieu panalungtikan ngaguar tilu perkara. Kahiji, kamampuh siswa saméméh ngagunakeun model Picture Word Inductive kagolong dina katégori kurang kalawan rata-rata nilai 50,84. Kadua, kamampuh siswa sabada ngagunakeun model Picture Word Inductive kagolong dina katégori hadé kalawan rata-rata nilai 80. Katilu, aya béda signifikan antara kamampuh saméméh jeung sabada ngagunakeun model Picture Word Inductive dina pangajaran nulis téks déskripsi. Bédana nyaéta 29,16. Dumasar kana uji hipotésis dina ieu panalungtikan, hasilna nyaéta Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) <0.001 atawa <0,05. Hartina, aya béda anu signifikan antara kamampuh siswa kelas VIII-I SMP Negeri 9 Semester Genap Taun Ajar 2023/2024 Bandung dina nulis téks déskripsi saméméh jeung sabada ngagunakeun model Picture Word Inductive.
