Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil pra penelitian diketahui kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 2 Majalaya masih rendah. Dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, pada penelitian ini diterapkan metode inkuiri terbimbing. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam bentuk uraian. Hipotesis diuji menggunakan uji paired simple t-test dan independent simple t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada kelas eksperimen antara sebelum dan setelah diterapkan metode inkuiri terbimbing, (2) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas eksperimen yang diberikan metode inkuiri terbimbing dengan kelas kontrol. Based on pre-research results, it is known that the critical thinking abilities of class XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Majalaya are still low. With the aim of improving students' critical thinking skills, in this research the guided inquiry method was applied. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The instrument used is a critical thinking ability test in the form of a description. The hypothesis was tested using a paired simple t-test and an independent simple t-test. The research results showed: (1) there were differences in students' critical thinking abilities in the experimental class between before and after the guided inquiry method was applied, (2) there were differences in students' critical thinking abilities between the experimental class given the guided inquiry method and the control class.
