Abstract
Peranan media pembelajaran sangat penting dalam upaya meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Pemanfaatan media digital dapat menjadi alternatif pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. Sehingga, tujuan dilakukannya penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis pemahaman siswa kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media powerpoint dan storymaps, serta menganalisis implementasi pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media powerpoint dan storymaps pada materi kebencanaan gempabumi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan model Quasi Experiment. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 37 siswa, dengan rincian 21 siswa kelas XI 4 dan 16 siswa kelas XI 3. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan instrumen tes dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Terdapat peningkatan pemahaman di kelas kontrol sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media powerpoint, hal ini dibuktikan dari meningkatnya nilai rata-rata kelas yaitu dari 59 menjadi 78,022. 2) Kelas eksperimen juga mengalami peningkatan pemahaman dengan meningkatnya nilai rata-rata kelas yaitu dari 52,5 menjadi 78,5. 3) Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji N-Gain Score, menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata N-Gain Score untuk kelas eksperimen sebesar 58,9%, sehingga media storymaps termasuk dalam kategori cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa, sedangkan untuk kelas kontrol mendapatkan nilai rata-rata N-Gain Score sebesar 51,7%, sehingga media powerpoint termasuk dalam kategori kurang efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa. The utilization of digital media can be an alternative to learning to improve student understanding. Thus, the purpose of the research is to analyze the understanding of control class and experimental class students before and after using powerpoint media and storymaps, and analyze the implementation of learning by using powerpoint media and storymaps on earthquake disaster material. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with a Quasi Experiment model. The research was conducted at UPI Laboratory Senior High School with a total sample of 37 students, with details of 21 students of class XI 4 and 16 students of class XI 3. Data collection was carried out using test instruments and questionnaires. The results showed that: 1) There was an increase in understanding in the control class before and after using powerpoint media, this was evidenced by the increase in the class average score from 59 to 78.022. 2) The experimental class also experienced an increase in understanding by increasing the class average score from 52.5 to 78.5. 3) Based on the results of the N-Gain Score test calculation, it shows that the average value of the N-Gain Score for the experimental class is 58.9%, so that the storymaps media is included in the moderately effective category in increasing student understanding, while for the control class the average value of the N-Gain Score is 51.7%, so that the powerpoint media is included in the less effective category in increasing student understanding.
