Abstract
Pemahaman konsep merupakan salah satu aspek kognitif yang menentukan keberhasilan siswa dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran. Dalam pembelajaran geografi, diperlukan adanya penerapan model pembelajaran yang disesuaikan dengan karakteristik geografi sehingga memberikan kemudahan bagi siswa memahami konsep dari materi yang dipelajari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model problem based learning terhadap pemahaman konsep peserta didik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X-4 sebagai kelas kontrol dan X-11 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Pemahaman konsep peserta didik diukur berdasarkan indikator menafsirkan, mencontohkan, mengklasifikasikan, merangkum, menyimpulkan, membandingkan, dan menjelaskan. Analisis data menggunakan skoring/analisis pemahaman konsep, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji hipotesis (Uji-t), dan uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol, dengan persentase peningkatan kelas eksperimen sebesar 47% dan kelas kontrol sebesar 40%. Peningkatan indikator tertinggi pada kelas eksperimen adalah merangkum dan peningkatan terendah adalah mengklasifikasikan. Adapun peningkatan indikator tertinggi pada kelas kontrol adalah membandingkan dan peningkatan terendah adalah merangkum. Berdasarkan hasil uji regresi linear sederhana, diperoleh nilai (.sig) sebesar 0,008 yang artinya 0,008 < 0,05 sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model problem based learning berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep peserta didik. The concept of understanding is one of the cognitive aspects that determines whether students are successful in following the learning process. In geography learning, it is necessary to apply learning models that are adapted to the characteristics of geography subjects to make it easier for students to understand the concepts of the material of the study. This research aims to determine the effect of applying the problem-based learning model on enhancing students' understanding of concepts. The method used in the research was quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects in this research were class X-4 as the control class and X-11 as the experimental class. Students' conceptual understanding is measured based on the indicators of interpreting, exemplifying, classifying, summarizing, concluding, comparing and explaining. The data analysis uses scoring, normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, and simple linear regression test. The research results showed that the understanding concepts in the experimental class was higher than in the control class, with an increase in the percentage of experimental class by 47% and the control class by 40%. The highest increase in concept understanding indicators in experimental class is the summarizing and the lowest increase is the classifying. As for the highest increase in concept understanding indicators in control class is the comparing and the lowest increase is the summarizing. Based on the results of a simple linear regression test, a value (.sig) of 0.008 was obtained, which means 0.008 < 0.05. It can be concluded that the problem-based learning model affects students' conceptual understanding.
