Abstract
Kemampuan membaca yang buruk dapat berdampak terhadap kemampuan menulis seseorang. Dengan menulis, siswa terbiasa mengembangkan narasi dengan mengembangkan pemikiran kreatif dan kritis. Kenyataannya, siswa mengalami kesulitan menulis karena lemahnya ide imajinatif siswa, pemahaman konsep cerita fantasi dan menguraikannya dalam sebuah teks naratif. Kemampuan menulis siswa akan semakin rendah bila tidak dibiasakan, sebagaimana kaitan dengan rendahnya kemampuan membaca sebagai kesatuan aspek keterampilan berbahasa. Metode brainwriting ditemukan sebagai solusi dari permasalahan tersebut. Metode ini merupakan metode menulis ide pada tabel dengan waktu tertentu dalam sebuah kelompok. Aplikasi canva dipilih sebagai media yang mampu memaksimalkan pelaksanaan metode ini. Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan perbedaan kemampuan menulis cerita fantasi siswa yang menggunakan metode brainwriting berbantuan aplikasi canva sebelum dan sesudah, kemampuan menulis cerita fantasi siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode project based learning dan perbedaan signikan antara siswa yang menggunakan metode brainwriting berbantuan aplikasi canva dan siswa yang menggunakan metode project based learning. Data penelitian ini berupa hasil perhitungan tulisan cerita fantasi siswa dengan pretest dan postest yang diamati dan dilaksanakan dengan metode eksperimen kuasi. Teknik analisis data yang dipilih adalah nonparametrik dan deskriptif. Setelah penghitungan statistic dengan SPSS menunjukkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,917 > 0,05. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji Mann Whitney-U tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis cerita fantasi menggunakan metode brainwriting berbantuan aplikasi canva pada kelas eksperimen dengan kemampuan menulis cerita fantasi pada kelas kontrol yang menerapkan metode project based learning. Metode brainwriting ini berdampak minimal dalam membantu siswa menulis cerita fantasi. Kata Kunci : metode brainwriting; aplikasi canva; menulis fantasi. Abstract : Poor reading ability can impact a person's writing ability. By writing, students are used to developing narratives by developing creative and critical thinking. In fact, students have difficulty writing because of the weakness of students' imaginative ideas, understanding the concept of fantasy stories and describing them in a narrative text. Students' writing abilities will become lower if they don't get used to them, as is related to low reading abilities as an integral aspect of language skills. The brainwriting method was found as a solution to this problem. This method is a method of writing ideas on a table at a certain time in a group. The Canva application was chosen as a medium that can maximize the implementation of this method. The aim of this research is to describe the differences in the ability to write fantasy stories of students who use the brainwriting method assisted by the Canva application before and after, the ability to write fantasy stories of students before and after using the project based learning method and the significant differences between students who use the brainwriting method assisted by the Canva application and students who use the project based learning method. The data for this research are the results of calculations of students' fantasy story writing using pretests and posttests which were observed and carried out using a quasi-experimental method. The data analysis technique chosen is nonparametric and descriptive. After statistical calculations with SPSS, it shows a significance value of 0.917 > 0.05. Based on the Mann Whitney-U test calculations, it can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the ability to write fantasy stories using the brainwriting method assisted by the Canva application in the experimental class and the ability to write fantasy stories in the control class which applies the project based learning method. This brainwriting method has minimal impact in helping students write fantasy stories. Keywords : brainwriting method; canva application; writing fantasy.
