Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah metematis merupakan bagian internal dalam pembelajaran matematika, dimana kemampuan ini dapat melatih siswa agar terbiasa menghadapi berbagai permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hal yang erat kaitannya dengan kemampuan pemecahan masalah ialah kesadaran metakognitif, metakognisi merupakan kesadaran seseorang terhadap proses berpikirnya sendiri untuk membangun strategi yang tepat dalam memecahkan masalah. Kenyatannya, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kesadaran metakognitif siswa di Indonesia masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat seberapa berpengaruh pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kesadaran metakognitif siswa di madarasah ibtidaiyah. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuasi-eksperimen dengan desain post-test only control group design. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 40 siswa, dilakukan di kelas IV Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Islam Majalaya Kabupaten Bandung. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Kemampuan awal matematis siswa pada kelas eksperimen maupun kelas kontrol baik ditinjau dari keseluruhan dan ditinjau dari aspek Kemampuan Awal Matematis (KAM) berbeda; 2) Terdapat pengaruh positif kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education; 3) Siswa yang tuntas KKM lebih banyak pada kelas eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol; serta (4) Tingkat kesadaran metakognitif siswa setelah diberikan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education masuk pada kategori sudah berkembang baik. Penelitian ini memiliki implikasi dampak peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kesadaran metakognitif siswa yang belajar dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dapat direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan oleh guru sebagai salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan kesadaran metakognitif siswa, serta tidak hanya terbatas pada mata pelajaran matematika saja. The ability to solve mathematical problems is an internal part of mathematics learning, where this ability can train students to become accustomed to facing various problems in everyday life. Something that is closely related to problem-solving ability is metacognitive awareness. Metacognition is a person's awareness of their own thinking process to develop the right strategy for solving problems. In reality, students' mathematical problem solving abilities and metacognitive awareness in Indonesia are still low. This research aims to see how influential the approach is Realistic Mathematics Education on students' mathematical problem solving abilities and metacognitive awareness in madarasah ibtidaiyah. The research method uses quasi-experimental design post-test only control group design. The participants in this research were 40 students, conducted in class IV of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Islam Majalaya, Bandung Regency. The research findings show that: 1) The initial mathematical abilities of students in the experimental class and the control class both in terms of overall and in terms of aspects of Initial Mathematical Ability (KAM) are different; 2) There is a positive influence on the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who learn using the approachRealistic Mathematics Education; 3) More students who completed the KKM were in the experimental class compared to the control class; and (4) The level of students' metacognitive awareness after being given the approachRealistic Mathematics Education falls into the well developed category. This research has implications for the impact of increasing mathematical problem solving abilities and metacognitive awareness of students who learn with this approachRealistic Mathematics Education. Hence, approach Realistic Mathematics Education can recommended for implementation by teachers as an effort to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities and metacognitive awareness, and is not only limited to mathematics subjects.
