Abstract

Novel Laut Bercerita karya Leila S. Chudori mengisahkan tentang bagaimana perjuangan para aktivis membela hak rayat dan melepaskan belenggu hegemoni penguasa yang saat itu dipimpin oleh pemerintah Orde Baru dengan latar tahun 1990-1998. Novel ini memperlihatkan bahwa jejak kolonialisme di Indonesia tidak serta merta hilang karena perilaku yang mirip penjajah masih ditemukan, hal itu yang menyebabkan penelitian ini dilakukan. Postkolonialisme digunakan untuk menganalisis gejala kultural yang terjadi di negara bekas jajahan. Ascroft (dalam Ratna, 2008, hal. 90) mengatakan bahwa objek postkolonialisme adalah tulisan yang berkaitan dengan kekuasaan imperial temasuk efek yang ditimbulkannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguraikan bentuk postkolonialisme yang terdapat dalam novel Laut Bercerita serta menganalisis struktur pembangun yang hadir menggunakan teori Robert Stanton. Selain itu, rancangan bahan ajar juga menjadi luaran dari penelitian ini. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa alur yang digunakan adalah alur campuran dengan sudut pandang orang pertama utama. Ditemukan juga sarana sastra yang muncul berupa judul yang berkesinambungan dengan isi cerita, berbagai majas dan perasaan yang muncul, simbolisme yang digunakan, ironi dramatis dan tone ironi juga ditemukan dalam novel Laut Bercerita. Bentuk postkolonialisme yang hadir dalam novel Laut Bercerita meliputi 144 data yang menunjukkan adanya perilaku hegemoni penguasa yang terbagi menjadi 8 kategori dan 73 data yang menunjukkan adanya resistensi kaum tertindas terhadap kaum penguasa. Hasil analisis digunakan untuk merancang bahan ajar teks cerita sejarah di SMA kelas XII. Kata kunci: postkolonialisme, struktur, bahan ajar, novel Laut Bercerita The novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori tells the story of how activists struggled to defend the rights of the people and release the shackles of the hegemony of the rulers who were then led by the New Order government with the setting of 1990-1998. This novel shows that the traces of colonialism in Indonesia do not necessarily disappear because colonial-like behavior is still found, which is why this research was conducted. Postcolonialism is used to analyze cultural symptoms that occur in former colonies. Ascroft (in Ratna, 2008:90) says that the object of postcolonialism is writing related to imperial power including its effects. The purpose of this study is to describe the elements of postcolonialism contained in the novel Laut Bercerita and analyze the structure of the builders that are present using Robert Stanton's theory. In addition, the design of teaching materials is also the output of this research. The results show that the plot used is a mixed plot with the main first-person point of view. There are also literary means that appear in the form of titles that are continuous with the content of the story, various majas and feelings that arise, symbolism used, dramatic irony and ironic tone are also found in the novel Laut Bercerita. The elements of postcolonialism present in the novel Laut Bercerita include 144 data that show the behavior of the ruler's hegemony which is divided into 8 categories and 73 data that show the resistance of the oppressed against the rulers. The results of the analysis are used to design teaching materials for historical story texts in SMA class XII.
