Abstract

Penelitian ini muncul dari kebutuhan untuk memahami peran media pembelajaran berbasis peta digital (Google Earth) dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep penampakan alam pada mata pelajaran IPS materi kenampakan alam di kelas V SD. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh implementasi media pembelajaran berbasis peta digital (Google Earth) dan mengidentifikasi perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep penampakan alam antara siswa yang menggunakan media pembelajaran berbantuan peta digital dengan yang tidak berbantuan peta digital (Google Earth). Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah desain quasi eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol dan eksperimen di dua SD yang berbeda yaitu SDN Cibiru 06 dan SDN Cibiru 09 dengan sampel penelitian berjumlah 20 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa test pemahaman materi kenampakan alam pada siswa menggunakan 6 indikator dengan masing-masing 1 soal pemahaman, seperti explanation, interpretation, application, perspective, empathy, dan self-knowledge. Dengan hasil kelas eksperimen memperoleh rata-rata pretest (58.33) dan rata-rata posttest (86.04), sehingga terdapat pengaruh implementasi media pembelajaran berbasis peta digital (Google Earth) terhadap pemahaman konsep penampakan alam, sedangkan data posttest kelas eksperimen (86.04) dan data posttest kelas kontrol (65.62). Maka, hal tersebut menujukkan terdapat perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep penampakan alam antara siswa yang menggunakan media pembelajaran berbantuan peta digital dengan yang tidak berbantuan peta digital (Google Earth). ----------- This research arises from the need to understand the role of digital map-based learning media (Google Earth) in improving the understanding of the concept of natural appearance in social studies subjects in grade V elementary school. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the implementation of digital map-based learning media (Google Earth) and identify differences in the ability to understand the concept of natural appearance between students who use digital map-assisted learning media and those who are not assisted by digital maps (Google Earth). The research method applied is a quasi-experimental design with control and experimental classes in two different elementary schools, namely SDN Cibiru 06 and SDN Cibiru 09 with a research sample of 20 students. The results showed that the test of understanding of natural appearance material on students used 6 indicators with 1 understanding question each, such as explanation, interpretation, application, perspective, empathy, and self-knowledge. With the results of the experimental class obtaining an average pretest (58.33) and an average posttest (86.04), so there is an effect of the implementation of digital map-based learning media (Google Earth) on understanding the concept of natural appearance, while the experimental class posttest data (86.04) and the control class posttest data (65.62), it shows that there are differences in the ability to understand the concept of natural appearance between students who use digital map-assisted learning media and those who are not assisted by digital maps (Google Earth).
