Abstract

Engagement siswa dianggap sebagai salah satu yang penting untuk memastikan efektivitas pembelajaran. Saat siswa mengalami penurunan dalam keterlibatannya, iklim sekolah menjadi turut berperan dalam engagement siswa di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara iklim sekolah dengan engagement siswa SMA Islam di Kota Cirebon. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Jumlah partisipan sebanyak 287 siswa SMA Islam yang berjenis kelamin laki-laki dan perempuan berusia 14 sampai 19 tahun. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Student Engagement Instrument untuk mengukur engagement siswa dan Education Department School Climate Survey (EDSCLS) untuk mengukur iklim sekolah yang sudah diadaptasi ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Hasilnya terdapat hubungan positif antara iklim sekolah dengan engagement siswa. Rekomendasi hasil penelitian ini ditujukan kepada peneliti selanjutnya. Student engagement is considered one of the important things to ensure learning effectiveness. When students experience a decline in their involvement, school climate plays a role in student engagement at school. This study aims to analyze the correlation between school climate and student engagement in Cirebon Islamic high school. The method used in this research is quantitative with a correlational design. Meanwhile, the sampling technique used was convenience sampling technique with a total of 287 senior high school students aged 14-19 years. The instruments used in this study are the Student Engagement Instrument to measue student engagement, and the Education Department School Climate Survey (EDSCLS) to measure school climate which has been adapted into Indonesian. The results of data show that there is a positive correlation between school climate and sudent engagement. The recommendations of this study are addressed to future researchers.
