Abstract

Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan teori kecerdasan Multiple Intelligences yang digagas oleh Gardner, yang kemudian ditarik ke dunia pendidikan menjadi sebuah strategi pembelajaran, dimana strategi pembelajaran ini dijadikan bahan penelitian oleh penulis. Rumusan masalah umum dari penelitian ini ialah “bagaimana pengaruh strategi pembelajaran berbasis multiple intelligences terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa?”, sedangkan tujuan umum dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pembelajaran berbasis multiple intelligences terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa pada mata pelajaran IPS di kelas VIII SMPIT Al-Qudwah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen, dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan terdiri dari tes kecerdasan multiple intelligences research dan modalitas belajar, serta angket yang berkaitan dengan motivasi berprestasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMPIT Al-Qudwah, sedangkan populasinya siswa kelas VIII Putra dan Putri 1 SMPIT Al-Qudwah sebanyak 56 orang. Pengolahan data dilakukan uji hipotesis dengan uji-t dan selanjutnya penarikan simpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh di lapangan, simpulan yang pertama, terdapat perbedaan motivasi berprestasi yang signifikan antara siswa yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran berbasis multiple intelligences dengan siswa yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran konvensional pada aspek usaha untuk lebih unggul. Simpulan yang kedua, terdapat perbedaan motivasi berprestasi yang signifikan antara siswa yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran berbasis multiple intelligences dengan siswa yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran konvensional pada aspek berpikir kreatif dan inisiatif dalam belajar. Simpulan yang ketiga, terdapat perbedaan motivasi berprestasi yang signifikan antara siswa yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran berbasis multiple intelligences dengan siswa yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran konvensional pada aspek penyelesaian tugas. Simpulan yang keempat, terdapat perbedaan motivasi berprestasi yang signifikan antara siswa yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran berbasis multiple intelligences dengan siswa yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran konvensional pada aspek sikap dalam menghadapi tantangan. Simpulan yang kelima, terdapat perbedaan motivasi berprestasi yang signifikan antara siswa yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran berbasis multiple intelligences dengan siswa yang menggunakan strategi pembelajaran konvensional pada aspek tanggung jawab untuk sukses dan kepercayaan diri. Secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran berbasis multiple intelligences ini dapat memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap motivasi berprestasi siswa. Effect of Multiple Intelligences-Based Learning Strategy to The Student’s Achievement Motivation on Social Subjects in 8th Grade SMPIT Al-qudwah. This research is about multiple intelligences theory by Gardner, which is drawn into educational world into learning strategy. The general problem of this research is “how the effect of multiple intelligences based learning strategy to the student’s achievement motivation?”, while the general purpose of this research is to determine the effect of multiple intelligences based learning strategy to the student achievement motivation on social studies in 8th class SMPIT Al-Qudwah. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental method, data collection technique used two intelligence test, such as multiple intelligences research and learning modalities, as well as a questionnaire of achievement motivation. The population in this research were students of SMPIT Al-Qudwah, while the sample of this research were eight grade of boy one and eight grade of girl one as many as 56 people. Data processing is done by the hypothesis test with t-test and then making conclusion. Based on the result of this research, the first conclusion, there was significant difference in achievement motivation among students who used multiple intelligences based learning strategy with the students who used the conventional learning strategy on aspect of effort to be superior. The second conclusion, there was significant difference in achievement motivation among students who used multiple intelligences based learning strategy with the students who used the conventional learning strategy on aspect of creative thinking and initiative in learning. The third conclusion, there was significant difference in achievement motivation among students who used multiple intelligences based learning strategy with the students who used the conventional learning strategy on aspect of finishing the task. The fourth conclusion, there was significant difference in achievement motivation among students who used multiple intelligences based learning strategy with the students who used the conventional learning strategy on aspect of attitude to face the challenge. The fifth conclusion, there was significant difference in achievement motivation among students who used multiple intelligences based learning strategy with the students who used the conventional learning strategy on aspect of responsibility to get success and self-confidence. Generally, it could be conclude that multiple intelligences-based learning strategy could give an positive effect to the student’s achievement motivation.
