Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kenyataan di lapangan serta hasil kajian literatur mengenai kesulitan siswa kelas I yang belum fasih membaca permulaan, untuk mengatasi hal tersebut salah satunya memerlukan media sebagai penunjang upaya meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa, salah satunya dengan media kartu alfabet dalam membaca. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan membaca permulaan dari penggunaan media kartu alfabet dan mengetahui perbedaannya dari pembelajaran menggunakan media big book. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian kuasi eksperimen dan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design. Sampel dari penelitian ini yaitu 14 orang siswa kelas I pada dua SD di Kecamatan Leles dan berfokus pada siswa yang belum bisa membaca serta belum lancar membaca. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan ada peningkatan yang signifikan dari kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa dari penggunaan media alphabet card berbasis model kooperatif tipe scramble. Sedangkan nilai dari hasil uji rata-rata nilai post-test kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,323 > 0,05. Hal tersebut artinya tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan membaca permulaan dari kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Rekomendasi bagi penelitian lanjutan yaitu bisa dilakukan dengan meningkatkan durasi pembelajaran, jumlah siswa dalam kelompok belajar, atau variabel lainnya yang dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa. --------- This research is supported by the fact in the field as well as the results of the literature study on the difficulty of first-class students who have not been able to read in the beginning, to overcome this one requires the media as a supporter of efforts to improve the ability to read the students in the start, the other with the media of the alphabet card in reading. The aim of this research is to find out the improvement of the reading ability of the beginning of the use of the media alpha card and to know the difference from learning using the media big book. This research approach uses quantitative with experimental research methods and non-equivalent control group design research design. The sample of this study was 14 first-class students at two of the elementary schools in Leles district and focused on students who have not yet been able to read and have not read properly. Data analysis results showed that there was a significant improvement in the student's initial reading ability from the use of alphabet card media based on a cooperative model of the type of scramble. The test results averaged the post-test values of the experimental class and the control class with a significance of 0.323 > 0.05. This means that there is no significant difference between the starting reading ability of the experimental class and the control class. Recommendation for advanced research is that it can be done by increasing the duration of learning, the number of students in the study group, or other variables that may affect the student's initial reading ability.
