    Abstract

    Indi Zainun Zulfa (1700333). Analisis Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematis Siswa SMP dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Himpunan Berdasarkan Teori APOS.

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal himpunan berdasarkan teori APOS serta untuk mengetahui kesalahan apa saja yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal himpunan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif. Responden dari penelitian ini sebanyak 36 orang siswa kelas VIII salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bandung yang selanjutnya dipilih 6 siswa dengan tiga kategori kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes tulis dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (i) kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal himpunan berdasarkan teori APOS kategori tinggi dapat mencapai seluruh tahapan teori APOS, yaitu tahap aksi, proses, objek, dan skema; (ii) kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal himpunan berdasarkan teori APOS kategori tinggi dapat mencapai seluruh tahapan teori APOS kategori sedang memenuhi tahap aksi, proses, dan objek; (iii) kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal himpunan berdasarkan teori APOS kategori tinggi dapat mencapai seluruh tahapan teori APOS kategori rendah hanya mencapai tahap aksi. Adapun kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal himpunan meliputi empat tipe, yaitu kesalahan dalam memahami soal, kesalahan mentransformasikan, kesalahan dalam keterampilam proses, dan kesalahan dalam menuliskan jawaban akhir.

    Indi Zainun Zulfa (1700333). Analysis of Junior High School Students’ Ability to Understand Mathematical Concepts in Solving Set Problems Based on APOS Theory.

    This research aims to describe students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in solving set problems based on APOS theory and to find out what mistakes students make in solving set problems. The method used is a qualitative approach. The respondents of this research were 36 students in class VIII of one of the State Middle Schools in Bandung Regency, who were then selected 6 students with three categories of ability to understand mathematical concepts. The instruments used were written tests and interviews. The research results show that: (i) students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in solving set problems based on high category APOS theory can reach all stages of APOS theory, namely the action, process, object and scheme stages; (ii) students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in solving set problems based on high category APOS theory can reach all stages of medium category APOS theory fulfilling the action, process and object stages; (iii) students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in solving set problems based on high category APOS theory can reach all stages of low category APOS theory, only reaching the action stage. The errors made by students in solving set questions include four types, namely errors in understanding the question, transformation errors, errors in process skills, and errors in writing the final answer.
