Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dari salah seorang anak di TK Al Biruni Aria Graha Kota Bandung yang mengidap speech delay kemudian peneliti tertarik untuk membahas mengenai speech delay dalam hal perkembangan kemampuan menyimaknya melalui metode bercerita. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui profil speech delay anak, mengetahui proses metode bercerita dalam mengembangkan kemampuan menyimak, mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi speech delay pada anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif, sedangkan untuk teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yakni berdasarkan hasil wawancara yang dilakukan kepada guru kelas dan terapis anak, dokumentasi, dan observasi pada anak speech delay tersebut. Hasil penelitian pada penelitian ini yaitu anak kurang bisa menyebutkan dua kata ataupun lebih serta tidak bisa mengulangi kata yang dikatakan oleh lawan bicara dan masuk pada kategori speech delay tipe konduksi afasia yang berarti tidak mampu untuk mengulangi kata – kata dari yang diucapkan oleh lawan bicara, proses bercerita melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu pembukaan, bercerita dengan sesuai dengan topik yang anak inginkan dan penutup untuk menyimpulkan cerita secara bersama, adapun faktor - faktor yang mempengaruhinya, yakni berdasarkan penggunaan gadget yang berlebihan serta minimnya interaksi antara orang tua dan anak, kemudian berdasarkan penelitian ini juga, peneliti dapat mengetahui bahwa metode bercerita dapat diterapkan kepada anak speech delay dengan memperhatikan terlebih dahulu karakteristik dari anak speech delay tersebut, serta dapat membantu perkembangan menyimaknya namun hal tersebut harus dilakukan secara terus menerus dan dengan kurun waktu yang tidak dapat ditentukan. ------------ This research was based on a child at Al Biruni Aria Graha Kindergarten, Bandung, who suffered from speech delay. The researcher was extracted in discussing speech delay on the development of their listening ability through the storytelling method. The purpose of this research is to determine the profile of children who suffered speech delay, to discover how the process of the storytelling method could develop listening skills, to determine the factors that affect speech delay in children. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. As for the data collection techniques in this research, writer used the results of interviews conducted with classroom teachers and child therapists, also with some documentation and observations of the subject. The results of this research is that the children could not say two or more words and could not repeat the words spoken by the interlocutor and were included in the category of speech delay type aphasia conduction, which means they were unable to repeat the words spoken by the other person. There are also telling stories through several stages, such as opening, telling stories according to the topic that the child wants and closing to conclude the story together, and the factors that influence it, caused by an excessive use of gadgets and minimal interaction between parents and children.Furthermore, researcher finds that the storytelling method can be applied to children who suffered speech delay by first paying attention to its characteristics, and could help the development of their listening ability, provided that it is must be done continuously and with an indeterminate period of time.
