Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan pencapaian self-efficacy siswa yang memperoleh inquiry learning lebih tinggi atau tidak dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Model inquiry learning ialah proses membentuk pertanyaan, menyelidiki, dan menciptakan pengetahuan dan hal-hal yang baru yang melibatkan peserta didik secara penuh dalam pembelajaran. Sementara itu, self-efficacy ialah keyakinan individu terhadap kemampuannya dalam merencanakan dan melakukan tindakan yang diperlukan untuk mencapai tujuan yang telah ditentukan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experimental pretest-posttest nonequivalent control class design dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA di kota Jakarta. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini sebanyak dua kelas, dengan kelas eksperimen yang memperoleh inquiry learning berjumlah 30 siswa dan kelas kontrol yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional berjumlah 30 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan komunikasi matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model inquiry learning lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, Pencapaian self-efficacy siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran model inquiry learning tidak lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada peserta didik yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional. Kata kunci: kemampuan komunikasi matematis, inquiry learning, self-efficacy. ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to analyze the improvement of mathematical communication skills and self-efficacy achievement in students who receive higher levels of inquiry learning compared to those undergoing conventional learning. The inquiry learning model involves the process of formulating questions, investigating, and creating new knowledge and insights that fully engage learners in the learning process. Meanwhile, self-efficacy refers to an individual's belief in their ability to plan and execute actions necessary to achieve predetermined goals. The research method employed is a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest nonequivalent control class design with a quantitative approach. The population for this study comprises all tenth-grade students in one high school in Jakarta. The sample consists of two classes, with the experimental class (receiving inquiry learning) comprising 30 students and the control class (receiving conventional learning) also comprising 30 students. The research findings indicate that the improvement in mathematical communication skills among students who receive inquiry learning is significantly higher than those undergoing conventional learning. However, the self-efficacy achievement of students who undergo inquiry learning is not significantly higher than that of students undergoing conventional learning.
