Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil penilaian tes aspek pengetahuan kognitif dalam tes uraian peserta didik masih rendah. Sesuai dengan hasil PISA Indonesia menduduki peringkat ke-74 dari 79 negara yang berpartisipasi. Rendahnya nilai PISA Indonesia mempunyai beberapa implikasi. Pertama, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia perlu ditingkatkan, khususnya dalam bidang membaca, matematika, dan sains. Solusi yang peneliti tawarkan yakni menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berbantuan aplikasi TikTok. Aplikasi TikTok adalah aplikasi berbagi video dan gambar yang menarik perhatian peserta didik dengan konten yang beragam. Pengembangan inovasi baru seperti penggunaan TikTok dalam pembelajaran adalah hal yang menarik karena dapat membuka potensi baru dalam pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan berpikir kritis dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem based Learning berbantuan aplikasi TikTok. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan metode ex-post-facto. Jumlah populasi sebanyak 315 peserta didik kelas VIII, dan sampel terdiri 35 peserta didik dari satu kelas yang menggunakan model PBL berbantuan aplikasi Tiktok. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan test bentuk soal uraian. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan aplikasi TikTok dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dari peningkatan skor posttest, nilai gain, skor rata-rata lebih tinggi pada kelas yang menggunakan model PBL berbantuan aplikasi Tiktok pada aspek penjelasan sederhana, menyimpulkan dan memberikan penjelasan lebih lanjut. This research was motivated by the low results of the cognitive knowledge aspect test assessment in the student description test. According to the PISA results, Indonesia was ranked 74th out of 79 participating countries. Indonesia's low PISA score has several implications. First, this shows that the quality of education in Indonesia needs to be improved, especially in the areas of reading, mathematics and science. The solution that researchers offer is using the Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by the TikTok application. The TikTok application is a video and image sharing application that attracts the attention of students with diverse content. The development of new innovations such as the use of TikTok in learning is interesting because it can open up new potential in learning. Thus, this research was conducted to improve critical thinking by using the Problem Based Learning learning model assisted by the TikTok application. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach using the ex-post-facto method. The total population is 315 class VIII students, and the sample consists of 70 students from two classes which are divided into classes that use the PBL model assisted by the Tiktok application and classes that use the conventional model. The sampling technique used in this research is random sampling. Data was collected using a test in the form of descriptive questions. The results of the analysis show that the use of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by the TikTok application can improve students' critical thinking abilities. This is proven by the increase in posttest scores, gain values, higher average scores for classes that use the PBL model assisted by the Tiktok application in the aspects of elementary clarification, inference, advance clarification.
