Abstract
Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tuntutan abad 21 yang menuntut peserta didik menguasai keilmuwan, keterampilan metakognitif, yang diaktualisasikan melalui kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif. Hal tersebut sejalan dengan kurikulum merdeka yang menekankan pentingnya pemecahan masalah, keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan klaborasi antar disiplin ilmu. Namun, Sebagian proses pembelajaran masih menggunakan metode konvensional sehingga tidak mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Oleh karena itu diperlukan metode pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Salah satu metode pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan adalah metode debat melalui Instagram. Penelitian ini membahas mengenai pengaruh metode debat melalui Instagram terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik di SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Bandung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah pertama, untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode debat melalui Instagram terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Kedua, mengetahui hasil test kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik setelah diterapkan metode debat melalui Instagram. Metode peneltian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan desain one group posttest pretest dan analisis data menggunankan Uji T yaitu paired T-Tetst (Uji T berpasangan). Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VII D yang berjumlah 27 orang. Adapun hasil penelitian ini adalah pertama, hasil uji statistik menunjukan bahwa metode debat melalui Instagram berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap siswa kelas VII D dibuktikan dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 dan kenaikan nilai test sebelum dan sesudah diterapkannya metode debat melalui Instagram pada pembelajaran IPS sebesar 11,815. Kedua, hasil nilai test tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik mengalami peningkatan. Sebelum diterapkan metode debat melalui Instagram tingkat kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik adalah 56% dalam kategori rendah, 37% kategori sedang, dan 7% dalam kategori tinggi. Sedangkan setelah diterapkan treatment hasil test kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik adalah 11% rendah, 74% sedang, dan 15% tinggi. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode debat melalui Instagram berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Dengan demikian diharapkan guru dapat menjadikan metode debat melalui Instagram sebagai salah satu alternatif metode pembelajaran yang digunakan untuk proses pembelajaran agar meningkatkan dan mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Abstract This research is motivated by the demands of the 21st century which requires students to master scientific, metacognitive skills, which are actualized through the ability to think critically and creatively. This is in line with the independent curriculum which emphasizes the importance of problem solving, critical thinking skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration. However, some of the learning process still uses conventional methods so that it does not hone students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, learning methods are needed that can be used to hone students' critical thinking skills. One of the learning methods that can be used is the debate method through Instagram. This study discusses the influence of the debate method through Instagram on the critical thinking skills of students at SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Bandung. The purpose of this study is first, to determine the influence of the debate method through Instagram on the critical thinking ability of students in social studies learning. Second, knowing the results of the students' critical thinking skills test after applying the debate method through Instagram. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with a one group posttest pretest design and data analysis using the T Test, namely paired T-Tetst (paired T Test). The sample of this study was class VII D which amounted to 27 people. The results of this study are first, the results of statistical tests show that the debate method through Instagram has a significant effect on the critical thinking ability of grade VII D students as evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 and an increase in test scores before and after the application of the debate method via Instagram in social studies learning of 11,815. Second, the test scores of students' critical thinking skills have increased. Before applying the debate method through Instagram, the level of critical thinking ability of students was 56% in the low category, 37% in the medium category, and 7% in the high category. Meanwhile, after applying the treatment, the test results of students' critical thinking skills were 11% low, 74% medium, and 15% high. From these results, it can be concluded that the debate method through Instagram has a significant effect on the critical thinking ability of students. Thus, it is hoped that teachers can make the debate method through Instagram as an alternative learning method used for the learning process in order to improve and hone students' critical thinking skills.
