Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyakna siswa yang masih melakukan
kesalahan ejaan dalam menulis karangan. Diantaranya yaitu kesalahan dalam
memakai huruf, menuliskan kata, memakai tanda baca, dan menuliskan kata
serapan. Dalam satu tulisan memerlukan ejaan yang baik agar pembaca bisa
paham terhadap isi yang dibacanya, juga tidak menyebabkan salah arti. Selain itu,
dalam penelitian ini dijelaskan juga faktor yang mempengaruhi siswa dalam
melakukan kesalahan ejaan. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah
metode deskriptif, melalui pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik yang dipakainya yaitu
teknik tes tulis dan angket lalu diolah dengan cara analisis dokumen. Sumber data
yang dipakainya yaitu hasil karangan narasi kaulinan barudak siswa kelas VII
SMPN 9 Bandung dan angket. Berdasarkan hasil penelitiannya, terdapat 705 data
kesalahan, diantaranya kesalahan memakai huruf terdapat 500 data, kesalahan
menuliskan kata terdapat 65 data, kesalahan memakai tanda baca terdapat 65 data,
dan kesalahan menuliskan kata serapan terdapat 75 data. Sedangkan faktor yang
mempengaruhinya diantaranya karena terpengaruhi bahasa lain mendapatkan
persentase sebesar 72%, persentase ini tergolong “tinggi”, lalu kurangnya
pemahaman terhadap bahasa yang dipakainya mendapatkan persentase sebesar
73,75%, persentase ini tergolong “tinggi”, dan pembelajaran bahasa yang kurang
mendapatkan persentase sebesar 78,5%, persentase ini tergolong “tinggi”. :
This research is that many students still make spelling mistakes in writing essays.
Among them are errors in using letters, writing words, using punctuation, and
writing loan words. In one article, it requires good spelling so that the reader can
understand the content he is reading, and does not cause misunderstanding. In
addition, this research also describes the factors that influence students to make
spelling mistakes. The method used in this research is descriptive method, through
a qualitative approach. The techniques he uses are written test and questionnaire
techniques and then processed by means of document analysis. The data sources he
used were the results of the Kaulinan Barudak narrative essays from class VII
students of SMPN 9 Bandung and a questionnaire. Based on the results of his
research, there were 705 data errors, including mistakes in using letters there were
500 data, mistakes in writing words there were 65 data, mistakes in using
punctuation there were 65 data, and mistakes in writing loanwords there were 75
data. While the factors that influence it include being influenced by another
language (can be the language it has mastered first) getting a percentage of 72%,
this percentage is classified as "high", then a lack of understanding of the language
it uses gets a percentage of 73.75%, this percentage is classified as "high" ”, and
language learning that lacks a percentage of 78.5%, this percentage is classified
as “high”.
