Abstract

Latar belakang dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas VII memiliki pengetahuan ejaan yang berbeda-beda. Dalam menulis pengalaman pribadi terdapat siswa yang bagus dalam ejaannya dan juga siswa yang kurang bagus dalam ejaannya. Terdapat dugaan bahwa pengetahuan ejaan mempengaruhi kemampuan menulis seperti pengalaman pribadi. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengetahuan ejaan siswa kelas VII, kemampuan menulis pengalaman pribadi siswa kelas VII, dan korelasi antara pengetahuan ejaan dan menulis pengalaman pribadi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Teknik mengumpulkan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik tes. Hasil dari analisis data penelitian, menyatakan: (1) pengetahuan ejaan siswa kelas VII-G termasuk dalam kategori kurang (59%), kemampuan menulis pengalaman pribadi siswa kelas VII-G termasuk bagus (79%), dan terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara pengetahuan ejaan dan menulis pengalaman pribadi. Diketahui nilai ritung 0,422 > rtabel 0,344 dan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) 0,012 < 0,005. Maksudnya siswa yang memiliki pengetahuan ejaan, tentu memiki kemampuan menulis pengalaman pribadi yang baik. Oleh karena itu, dalam penelitian ini Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. The background in this study is that grade VII students have different spelling knowledge. In writing personal experiences there are students who are good at spelling and also students who are not good at spelling. It is thought that knowledge of spelling affects writing skills as much as personal experience. This study aims to describe the spelling knowledge of grade VII students, the ability to write personal experiences of grade VII students, and the correlation between spelling knowledge and writing personal experiences. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The technique of collecting data used is a test technique. Results from research data analysis, state: (1) the spelling knowledge of grade VII-G students was included in the deficient category (59%), the ability to write personal experiences of grade VII-G students was good (79%), and there was a significant correlation between spelling knowledge and writing personal experiences. It is known that the value of r is 0.422 > rtable is 0.344 and the value of Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.012 < 0.005. That is, students who have spelling knowledge, of course, have the ability to write good personal experiences. Therefore, in this study Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected.
