Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurang kreatifnya guru dalam menyampaikan pembelajaran, guru terlalu cepat menyampaikan materi pembelajaran. Selain itu,siswa pun memiliki karakteristik yang mudah bosan, kurang antusias belajar, dan hasil belajar masih kurang dari KKM. Sehingga, siswa pun masih kurang memahami beberapa materi housekeeping. Ini terjadi dikarenakan minimnya penggunaan pendekatan, model, dan metode oleh guru dalam pembelajaran. Untuk dapat mengatasi hal tersebut, salah satu model pembelajaran yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui penerapan, pelaksanaan, dampak dan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman pada materi housekeeping di SMK ICB Cinta Wisata dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran CTL. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan karena melihat rendahnya tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap materi housekeeping. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model spiral dari Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas XI Perhotelan. Hasil temuan yang didapat oleh peneliti dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran CTL dalam pembelajaran materi housekeeping menunjukan peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya. Pada pra siklus nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh yaitu 68, siklus I yaitu 75, dan siklus II yaitu 82. Dan persentase ketuntasan pada pra siklus mencapai 53%, siklus I yaitu 74%, dan siklus II yaitu 97%. Sehingga, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran CTL pada materi housekeeping di sekolah mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman siswa nampak dari peningkatan perilaku siswa baik dalam aktivitas siswa selama kegiatan pembelajaran berlangsung maupun hasil belajar siswa. Rekomendasi pada penelitian ini ditujukan untuk guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran CTL. This research is motivated by the teacher's lack of creativity in conveying learning, the teacher is too fast in delivering learning material. In addition, students also have characteristics that are easily bored, less enthusiastic about learning, and learning outcomes are still less than the KKM. Therefore, students still do not understand some housekeeping materials. This happens due to the minimal use of approaches, models, and methods by teachers in learning. To be able to overcome this, one of the learning models used in research is Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation, implementation, impact and increase in understanding skills on housekeeping material at ICB Cinta Wisata Vocational School by using the CTL learning model. This research was carried out because it saw the low level of students' understanding of housekeeping material. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the spiral model from Kemmis and Mc Taggart. Participants in this study were students of class XI Hospitality. The findings obtained by researchers by applying the CTL learning model in learning housekeeping materials show an increase in each cycle. In the pre-cycle the average value obtained was 68, the first cycle was 75, and the second cycle was 82. And the percentage of completeness in the pre-cycle reached 53%, the first cycle was 74%, and the second cycle was 97%. So, it can be concluded that the application of the CTL learning model to housekeeping material in schools is able to improve student's understanding abilities as seen from an increase in student behavior both in student activities during learning activities and student learning outcomes. Recommendations in this study are aimed at teachers in improving students' understanding skills by using the CTL learning model.
