Abstract

Keberhasilan proses pembelajaran salah satunya bisa diamati dari sejauh mana siswa memahami materi pembelajaran. Dengan demikian guru, termasuk guru PAI perlu mendesain proses pembelajaran yang membantu siswa untuk memahami materi dengan baik, salah satunya adalah pemanfaatan media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas media storyboard dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa di pembelajaran PAI jenjang SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Quasi Experiment model nonequivalent control grup design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII sebanyak 9 kelas. Sementara sampel berjumlah 2 kelas yang terdiri dari 1 kelas eksperimen dan 1 kelas kontrol. Perlakuan berupa pemanfaatan media pembelajaran storyboard dilakukan di kelas eksperimen selama 3 pertemuan. Sementara pre-test dan post-test diberikan baik di kelas kontrol maupun kelas eksperimen. Variabel pemahaman dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes berupa soal objektif berbentuk multiple choice sebanyak 29 Item. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, statistik inferensial, dan uji gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebelum dilakukan treatment, berdasarkan hasil pre-test, pemahaman kelas eksperimen menunjukan presentase “cukup baik” sedangkan di kelas kontrol menunjukan presentase “baik”. Sementara itu, setelah dilakukan treatment, hasil post-test menunjukkan perbedaan pemahaman antara kelas eksperimen dengan skor rata-rata pemahaman sebesar 95,77 dan kelas kontrol dengan skor rata-rata pemahaman sebesar 89,60. Perbedaan tersebut signifikan berdasarkan hasil uji Mann-Whitney di mana nilai Asymp. Sig. (0,20) < 0,25. Sementara itu untuk melihat hasil uji efektifitasnya dapat dilihat dari perolehan Gain sebesar 0,84 yang berkategori “tinggi”. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran Storyboard efektif meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam pembelajaran PAI pada jenjang sekolah menengah pertama. A successful learning process can be observed from the extent to which students understand the learning material. In this case, the teachers, including the Islamic education teachers need to design learning processes that help students understand the materials well, one of which is through the use of learning media. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of storyboard media in developing the students understanding in Islamic education at junior high school level. It employed a quantitative approach with the Quasi Experiment model nonequivalent control group design method. The population in this study were the students of class VIII, and the sample were 2 classes consisting of 1 experimental class and 1 control class. The experimental class was given a treatment which was the using of storyboard as its learning media, conducted for 3 classroom meetings. While the pre-test and post-test were given both in the control class and the experimental class. The students’ comprehension was objectively tested using a set of multiplechoice questions consisting of 29 items. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and gain test. The pre-test showed that the students’ comprehension in both control class and experimental class was labeled as "good enough". Meanwhile, after being given the treatment, the post-test results showed differences in the level of students’ comprehension in both classes, where the experimental class students’ comprehension average score was 95.77, and the control class’ average score was 89.60. The result was claimed as significant based on Mann-Whitney test where the Asymp. Sig. (0.20) < 0.25. Meanwhile, the effectiveness test revealed a score of 0.84 which belonged to the "high" category. Thus, it can be concluded that Storyboard learning media is effective in developing students' comprehension of Islamic education learning at the junior high school level.
