Abstract
Setiap siswa memiliki keistimewaan dan kebutuhan pembelajaran yang berbeda-beda. Untuk mengembangkan potensi yang dimiliki siswa, kepala sekolah dan guru dapat memberikan dukungan melalui student agency. Siswa diberi kesempatan untuk berpendapat, menentukan pilihan belajarnya secara mandiri, serta rasa memiliki dari setiap kegiatan yang dilaluinya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan bagaimana kepemimpinan kepala sekolah serta praktik pembelajaran profesional guru dalam mendukung agensi siswa di SMP Tunas Unggul melalui kegiatan Middle School Program Personal Project (MSP PP). Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, wakil kepala sekolah bidang kesiswaan, tiga guru kelas IX, serta lima siswa kelas IX SMP Tunas Unggul. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan melihat berbagai fenomena yang terjadi di SMP Tunas Unggul dengan pendeskripsian secara mendalam dan terperinci. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan cara melakukan observasi, wawancara serta studi dokumen. Temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang bersinergi dengan guru memberikan peran besar dalam membangun student agency. Kepala sekolah memiliki visi dan misi yang terarah, pengelolaan program yang terencana serta menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang nyaman. Guru memberikan dukungan, kepercayaan dan motivasi kepada siswa untuk mengembangkan minat dan bakatnya melalui projek akhir yang dipilih. Siswa terlibat dalam merancang pembelajaran dengan ikut berpendapat, menentukan pilihan sehingga tumbuh rasa memiliki dalam pembuatan projek. Kegiatan Middle School Program Personal Project (MSP PP) memberikan ruang agensi pada siswa dengan menunjukkan adanya kolaborasi pembelajaran yang bersinergi antara kepala sekolah, guru, siswa dan orangtua. Every student owns specified learning needs. Therefore, to improve the student's potential, the principal and teacher can provide support through the student agency. The students are set to have chances to express opinions, determine their learning choices independently, and have ownership of every learning activity. This research aims to describe how the leadership of a principal and teacher professional teaching practices support the student agency at SMP Tunas Unggul through the Middle School Program Personal Project (MSP PP). The research data sources are the principal, the vice principal of curriculum affairs, the vice principal of student affairs, three teachers and five students of Grade 9 SMP Tunas Unggul. The research method is qualitative by observing various phenomena that occurred in SMP Tunas Unggul through thoughtful and thorough descriptions. The data analysis technique was applied through observations, interviews, and document reviews. These research findings showed that the synergy of the principal leadership with the teacher performance effected a tremendous role in building the meaningful student’s agency. The principal owned a well-directed vision and mission alongside well-organized programs to create a comfortable school environment. The teacher supported, trusted, and motivated the students to develop their interests and perform their skills through their chosen projects. The students are thoroughly involved in constructing the learning by giving opinions and selecting options to ensure ownership in project production. The Middle School Program Personal Project (MSP PP) provided agency space for students to show the synergized learning collaboration among principal, teachers, students, and parents.
