Abstract

Perkembangan bahasa menjadi salah satu kemampuan dasar yang penting dan harus dipelajari sedini mungkin agar kemampuan bahasa anak dapat berkembang dengan baik. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kebutuhan, terdapat anak usia dini yang masih mengalami masalah perkembangan bahasa salah satu permasalahannya yaitu anak belum mampu mengenal keaksaraan dengan baik, hal ini ditandai ketika anak mengalami kekeliruan dalam menyebutkan awalan huruf pada suatu kosakata. Salah satu penyebab masalah ini yaitu pembelajaran yang dilakukan hanya berfokus menggunakan lembar kerja yang berisi soal-soal tanpa menggunakan benda konkret sebagai media pendukungnya. Sementara kesediaan media di sekolah untuk menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa anak masih sangat terbatas. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, peneliti bermaksud mengembangkan media untuk menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa melalui language board game yang dikemas dengan desain menarik serta dilengkapi dengan berbagai seri kartu permainan yang memenuhi indikator perkembangan bahasa anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Educational Design Research dengan melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, anak usia dini, dan dua orang dosen ahli ke-PAUD-an. Proses pengumpulan data dari peneitian ini meliputi wawancara, studi dokumentasi, dan rating scale, untuk memvalidasi kelayakan media. Data yang dikumpulkan kemudian diproses secara kuantitatif melalui presentase rating scale dan kualitatif melalui reduksi data, penyajian data hingga penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil akhir yang didapatkan yaitu berupa hasil akhir prototipe media Language Board Game sebagai media untuk menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa anak usia dini yang telah diuji validasi kelayakannya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media Language Board Game telah sesuai dengan karakteristik media pembelajaran untuk anak usia dini serta kebutuhan guru dalam menstimulasi perkembangan bahasa anak usia dini. ------ Language development is one of the important basic skills and must be learned as early as possible so that children's language skills can develop properly. Based on the results of the needs analysis, there are early childhood children who still experience language development problems, one of the problems is that children are not yet able to recognize literacy well, this is indicated when children experience mistakes in mentioning letter prefixes in a vocabulary. One of the causes of this problem is learning that is done only focuses on using worksheets that contain questions without using concrete objects as supporting media. Meanwhile, the willingness of media in schools to stimulate children's language development is still very limited. Based on this, the researcher intends to develop media to stimulate language development through language board games that are packaged in attractive designs and equipped with various series of game cards that meet indicators of early childhood language development. This study used the Educational Design Research method involving school principals, teachers, early childhood, and two PAUD expert lecturers. The process of collecting data from this research includes interviews, documentation studies, and rating scales, to validate the eligibility of the media. The collected data is then processed quantitatively through rating scale percentages and qualitatively through data reduction, and data presentation to draw conclusions. The final result obtained is in the form of a prototype of the Language Board Game media as a medium to stimulate early childhood language development which has been tested for feasibility validation. The results of this study indicate that the Language Board Game media is ''the'' characteristic of learning media for early childhood and the needs of teachers in stimulating early childhood language development.
