Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman dan penguasaan konsep siswa di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran RADEC terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman dan penguasaan konsep teks cerpen pada siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Negeri Kabupaten Subang dengan melibatkan 30 siswa kelas V yang diambil secara random. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa soal tes uraian untuk keterampilan membaca pemahaman, tes uraian untuk kemampuan penguasaan konsep, dan lembar observasi kegiatan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran RADEC untuk menilai kinerja guru dan kemampuan siswa. Tes dilakukan melalui dua tahap, yaitu pratest diberikan sebelum adanya perlakuan dan pascatest diberikan setelah adanya perlakuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan uji t (independent sample t-test) dan uji N-gain. Hasil pengujian terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,002 < 0,05 dan penguasaan konsep nilai signifikansi (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Membuktikan bahwa model pembelajaran RADEC memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan membaca pemahaman dan penguasaan konsep. Dalam proses kegiatan belajar mengajar model pembelajaran RADEC membuat siswa lebih aktif sehingga dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman dan penguasan konsep. This research was motivated by the low reading comprehension skills and mastery of concepts of students in elementary school. This study aims to determine the influence of the RADEC learning model on reading skills comprehension and mastery of short story text concepts in grade V elementary school students. This research uses a quantitative approach, a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. This research was conducted at one of the Subang Regency State Elementary Schools involving 30 grade V students who were randomly taken. The research instruments used are in the form of description test questions for reading comprehension skills, description tests for mastery of concepts, and observation sheets for learning activities using the RADEC learning model to assess teacher performance and student abilities. The test is carried out through two stages, namely the pretest given before the treatment and the posttest given after treatment. This study used an independent sample t-test and an N-gain test. The test results on reading comprehension skills a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.002 < 0.05 and mastery of concepts obtained a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. Proving that the RADEC learning model exerts a significant influence on reading skills comprehension and mastery of concepts. In the process of teaching and learning activities, the RADEC learning model makes students more active so that they can improve reading comprehension skills and mastery of concepts.
