Abstract

Iklim sekolah positif merupakan lingkungan sekolah yang aman, menyenangkan, kondusif, dan damai. Iklim sekolah sangat penting bagi perkembangan siswa di sekolah tersebut baik secara akademik maupun psikologis. Iklim sekolah positif dapat dibentuk dengan kerja sama antara siswa, guru, sekolah, dan pihak sekolah lainnya. Membentuk iklim sekolah yang positif akan mempengaruhi beberapa aspek salah satunya yaitu self esteem. Self esteem merupakan bagaimana cara pandang siswa terhadap dirinya sendiri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui seberapa pengaruhnya iklim sekolah positif yang ada di SD Sekolah Alam Bogor terhadap self esteem siswanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional melalui penyebaran angket. Angket beriskan mengenai indikator dari iklim sekolah positif dan self esteem. Angket tersebut dibagikan kepada siswa kelas IV, V, VI karena siswa kelas tinggi memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda dengan siswa kelas rendah yaitu sudah dapat berfikir lebih kritis dan logis. Hasil dari penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa terdaapat pengaruh antara iklim sekolah positif terhadap self esteem siswa walaupun tidak signifikan serta pengaruhnya sebesar 18.1% dan sisanya yaitu 81.9% merupakan pengaruh yang didapatkan dari variabel lainnya. Walaupun hanya 18.1% tetapi iklim sekolah positif tetap menjadi salah satu variabel yang dapat mempengaruhi self esteem dengan sumbangan efektif indikator terbesar yaitu pada indikator hubungan siswa dengan teman sebaya, pribadi guru, dan lingkungan fisik. Pihak sekolah, guru, dan anggota sekolah perlu sekali membentuk iklim sekolah yang positif. Selain pihak sekolah, pemerintah daerah dan juga pemimpin lembaga pendidikan perlu memperhatikan kondisi iklim sekolah positif di setiap sekolah agar siswa di sekolah manapun dapat memiliki tingkatan self esteem yang tinggi dan membuat siswa jauh lebih bangga serta percaya akan dirinya sendiri. ----- A positive school climate is a safe, pleasant, conducive, and peaceful school environment. The school climate is very important for the development of students in the school both academically and psychologically. A positive school climate can be formed by collaboration between students, teachers, schools and other school parties. Forming a positive school climate will affect several aspects, one of which is self-esteem. Self esteem is how students view themselves. The purpose of this study is to find out how much influence the positive school climate in SD Sekolah Alam Bogor has on students' self-esteem. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method through questionnaires. The questionnaire contains indicators of a positive school climate and self-esteem. The questionnaire was distributed to students in grades IV, V, VI because high grade students have different characteristics from low grade students, namely being able to think more critically and logically. The results of this study prove that there is an influence between positive school climate on student self-esteem, although it is not significant and the effect is 18.1% and the remaining 81.9% is the influence obtained from other variables. Even though it is only 18.1%, positive school climate remains one of the variables that can influence self-esteem with the largest effective contribution of indicators, namely on indicators of student relationships with peers, teacher personality, and the physical environment. The school, teachers and school members really need to form a positive school climate. Apart from schools, local governments and also leaders of educational institutions need to pay attention to the positive school climate conditions in each school so that students in any school can have a high level of self-esteem and make students much more proud and confident in themselves.
