Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis-jenis permainan anak yang berkembang pada saat ini, membandingkan permainan modern vs. tradisional dalam pembentukan karakter anak masa kini, serta menindaklanjuti dari permainan tersebut terhadap pengembangan character building anak. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Sekolah Dasar Kabupaten Bandung dengan sasaran siswa Sekolah Dasar kelas 2. Teknik yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data ialah dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Pihak yang diwawancara ialah guru dan orang tua, sedangkan siswa diminta untuk mengisi kuesioner. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis permainan yang berkembang saat ini didominasi oleh permainan modern berupa games online. Permainan tradisional sebetulnya masih dimainkan tetapi intensitasnya kecil karena pengenalannya sangat kurang. Semua jenis permainan memiliki keunikan bahkan dampaknya masing-masing bagi anak. Maka dari itu, apapun jenis permainannya sebetulnya kunci utamanya adalah bagaimana anak tersebut memainkan dan memanfaatkan media permainan dengan sebaik mungkin, dan pendidikan karakter ialah kemasannya. Serumit apapun permainannya jika dikemas dengan pendekatan edukatif atau pendidikan karakter maka akan berdampak baik. Kerjasama antar orang tua, guru dan anak sangat penting dalam keberhasilan pendekatan pendidikan melalui media permainan tersebut. Zaman yang semakin canggih tidak boleh terlewatkan oleh anak, namun permainan tradisional tidak boleh dilupakan. Hal ini bisa dilakukan dengan menggabungkan permainan modern dan tradisional sehingga dapat menarik perhatian anak dalam bermain. ----- This study aims to identify the types of children's games that are developing at this time, compare modern vs. traditional games in the formation of today's children's character, and follow up from these games on the development of child character building. This research method uses qualitative descriptive methods. This research was conducted at the Bandung Regency Elementary School with the target of grade 2 elementary school students. The techniques used in collecting data are by means of observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The interviewees were teachers and parents, while students were asked to fill out questionnaires. The results of this study show that the types of games that are developing today are dominated by modern games in the form of online games. Traditional games are actually still played but the intensity is small because the introduction is very lacking. All types of games have their own uniqueness and even their own impact on the child. Therefore, whatever the type of game, the main key is actually how the child plays and makes the best use of the game media, and character education is the packaging. No matter how complicated the game is, if it is packed with an educational approach or character education, it will have a good impact. Cooperation between parents, teachers and children is very important in the success of the educational approach through the medium of the game. An increasingly sophisticated age should not be missed by children, but traditional games should not be forgotten. This can be done by combining modern and traditional games so that it can attract children's attention in playing.
