Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematis siswa di sekolah dasar. Literasi matematis merupakan kemampuan seseorang untuk bernalar secara matematis dan untuk merumuskan, menerapkan, dan menafsirkan dalam memecahkan masalah dalam konteks dunia nyata yang mencakup konsep, prosedur, fakta, dan alat untuk menggambarkan, menjelaskan, dan memperkirakan fenomena. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari alternatif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa sekolah dasar. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kombinasi (kuantitatif dan kuliatatif) dengan desain penelitian Sequantial eksplanatory Design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa di kelas V SD El-Fitra sebagai kelas eksperimen dan SD Plus Al-Ghifari sebagai kelas kontrol di Kecamatan Antapani dan Arcamanik Kota Bandung sebagai kelas kontrol. Dari hasil penelitian terdapat peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa pada siswa kelas eksperimen dengan hasil thitung (3,32) > ttabel (1,70) uji one sample pada signifikasi 5% dan peningkatan tersebut berbeda signifikan dengan kelompok kontrolnya. Pembelajaran matematika menggunakan strategi Mathematical Habits of Mind mendapatkan hasil respon yang baik dari peserta didik. Peserta didik menyatakan bahwa mereka memiliki suasana baru dalam belajar matematika serta lebih teliti memahami soal literasi matematis. Dengan demikian, kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah strategi Mathematical Habits of Mind dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif penyelesaian masalah rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematis siswa sekolah dasar. ------- This research is motivated by the low mathematical literacy ability of students in elementary schools. This study aims to find alternatives in developing the mathematical literacy skills of elementary school students. Mathematical literacy is a person's ability to reason mathematically and to formulate, apply, and interpret in solving problems in real world contexts that include concepts, procedures, facts, and tools to describe, explain, and predict phenomena. The research method used is a mix method (quantitative and qualitative) with an explanatory quantitative research design. The subjects of this study were the fifthgrade students of SD El-Fitra as the experimental class and SD Plus Al Ghifari as the control class in Antapani and Arcamanik Districts, Bandung City as the control class. From the results of the study, there was an increase in students' mathematical literacy skills in experimental class students with the results of tcount (3,32) > ttable (1,70) one sample test at a significance of 5% and the increase was significantly different from the control group. Learning mathematics using the Mathematical Habits of Mind strategy got a good response from students. Students stated that they had a new atmosphere in learning mathematics and were more thorough in understanding mathematical literacy problems. Thus, the conclusion of this study is that the Mathematical Habits of Mind strategy can be used as an alternative to solving the problem of the low mathematical literacy ability of elementary school students.
