Abstract
Seyogyanya setiap pembelajaran yang dilakukan guru mempertimbangkan prinsip pemerataan terhadap siswa. Akan tetapi, pada kenyataannya prinsip tersebut cukup sulit dilakukan oleh guru tatkala dihadapkan pada siswa berkebutuhan khusus; underachiever. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini sangat penting untuk dilakukan karena memiliki keunggulan dalam penanganan yang dilakukan guru PAI dalam proses pembelajaran di SMPN 26 Bandung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik siswa underachiever, persepsi guru PAI terhadapnya, pembelajaran yang dilakukan dan evaluasi yang dilakukan serta kendala yang dihadapi guru PAI. Studi kasus dipilih sebagai metode dalam penelitian dibantu dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Metode wawancara dengan respondennya kepala sekolah dengan usia 59 tahun laki-laki, guru BK dengan usia 35 tahun perempuan, guru PAI dengan usia 45 tahun perempuan, wali kelas siswa dengan usia 50 tahun perempuan, orang tua siswa dengan usia 35 tahun perempuan dan siswa underachiever dengan usia 14 tahun perempuan, observasi mengenai pelaksanaan pembelajaran, metode pembelajaran, interaksi pembelajaran dan evaluasi pembelajaran, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini dengan bentuk reduksi data, display data, dan verifikasi data. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa karakteristik siswa underachiever memiliki kelemahan dalam prestasi akademik namun memiliki kelebihan non akademik. Positifnya persepsi guru PAI terhadap siswa underachiever dibuktikan dengan pembelajaran yang diterapkan lebih menekankan pendekatan dari hati ke hati. Peningkatan pemahaman SDM sekolah, terutama guru PAI terhadap karakteristik siswa underachiever dan pengembangan kompetensi profesional guru PAI adalah rekomendasi dari penelitian ini. Sehingga, prinsip pemerataan dan berorientasi terhadap pengembangan potensi siswa dapat terwujud. ABSTRACT Noviyanti Sri Lestari (1701011) "The Efforts of PAI Teachers in Handling Underachievers in the Learning Process at SMPN 26 Bandung" under the guidance of Mr. Dr. Edi Suresman, M.Ag and Mr. Mokh. Iman Firmansyah, S.Pd.I., M.Ag. Every learning carried out by the teacher should consider the principle of equalization to students. However, in reality this principle is quite difficult for teachers to do when faced with students with special needs; underachiever. Therefore, this research is very important to do because it has advantages in the handling of what Islamic education teachers do in the learning process at SMPN 26 Bandung. This study aims to describe the characteristics of the students underachiever, the perceptions of Islamic Education teachers towards them, the learning carried out and the evaluation carried out and the obstacles faced by Islamic Education teachers. The case study was chosen as a method in research assisted by data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The interview method with the respondent was the principal of the school with a male age of 59, a female counseling teacher with an age of 35 years, a female Islamic education teacher with a female age of 45, a female homeroom teacher with a female age of 50, the parents of a female 35-year-old student and underachiever students. with a 14 year old female, observations regarding the implementation of learning, learning methods, learning interactions and learning evaluations, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out in this study in the form of data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of underachiever students have weaknesses in academic achievement but have non-academic strengths. The positive perception of Islamic Education teachers towards underachiever students is evidenced by the applied learning which emphasizes a heart-to-heart approach. Increasing the understanding of school human resources, especially Islamic education teachers on the characteristics of underachiever students and the development of professional competence of Islamic education teachers are the recommendations of this study. Thus, the principle of equity and orientation towards developing student potential can be realized
