Abstract
Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi pada abad 21 memberikan dampak terhadap berbagai aspek kehidupan, salah satunya berimplikasi terhadap penyelenggaraan Pendidikan. Dengan hal tersebut, Pendidikan hendaknya mampu menghasilkan sumber daya manusia yang ideal sesuai dengan perkembangan kompetensi abad 21. Upaya pendidikan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan abad 21 dengan adanya Pendidikan adab 21 yang berfokus pada pengembangan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi, yang salah satunya meliputi kemampuan berpikir kritis. Pengoptimalan pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis mampu mendorong siswa dapat mengelola dan memanfaatkan informasi dan komunikasi untuk bertahan hidup serta memiliki daya saing. Namun, saat ini masih minimnya upaya pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis terlebih dengan masih banyaknya penerapan pembelajaran konvensional serta kurangnya menghadirkan pembelajaran berkaitan langsung dengan permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pemilihan metode yang tepat dapat menjadi solusi permasanlah pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran. Dengan demikian penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan efektivitas penerapan metode pembelajaran Example Non-Examples melalui media gambar terhadap peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran PPKn. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain One Group Time Series. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis penelitian melalui uji-t, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis antara kemampuan siswa sebelum penerapan metode Example Non-Examples dan sesudah penerapan metode Example Non-Examples. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode Example Non-Examples signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada Mata Pelajaran PPKn pada kelas VII di SMP Plus Arafah Cililin.;--The rapid development of information and communication technology in the 21st century has an impact on various aspects of life, one of which has implications for the administration of Education. With that matter, Education should be able to produce ideal human resources following the development of 21st-century competencies. Educational efforts in developing 21st-century abilities with 21st education are focused on developing higher-order thinking skills, one of which includes critical thinking abilities. Optimizing the development of critical thinking skills can encourage students to manage and utilize information and communication to survive and have competitiveness. However, currently, there is still minimal effort to develop critical thinking skills, especially with the many conventional learning applications and the lack of direct learning related to problems in daily life. Choosing the right method can be a solution to the problem of implementing the learning process. Thus this research aims to present the effectiveness of the application of the Example Non-Examples learning method through image media to improve students' critical thinking skills on PPKn subjects. The research method used was a quasi-experiment with the One Group Time Series design. Based on the results of the research hypothesis testing through the t-test, it can be concluded that there is an increase in critical thinking skills between students' abilities before applying the Example Non-Examples method and after applying the Example Non-Examples method. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Example Non-Examples method significantly increases the students' critical thinking skills in the PPKn Subjects in class VII in SMP Arafah Cililin.
