Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang peningkatan kognitif antara siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran POGIL dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional dan mendapatkan gambaran tentang peningkatan keterampilan proses sains antara siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran POGIL dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre eksperimental dengan desain the matching only pretest-posttest control group design”. Sampel penelitain ini adalah siswa Sekolah Dasar kelas V yang dipilih menggunakan metode random Assignment. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pretest dan posttest untuk mengukur peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) siswa, perangkat observasi, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran model POGIL. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Process Oriented Guided Inquiry learning (POGIL) dapat lebih meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan KPS siswa dibandingkan penerapan model konvensional. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa potensi model pembelajaran POGIL sebagai salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan KPS siswa.----------This study aims to get a picture of cognitive improvement between students who get POGIL learning compared with students who received conventional learning and get a picture of the improvement of science process skills between students who get POGIL learning compared with students who received conventional learning. The research method used is pre experimental with design of the matching only pretest-posttest control group design ". The sample of this research is elementary school students of class V which is chosen using random method of Assignment. Data collection was done by pretest and posttest to measure the improvement of students' cognitive ability and science process skill (KPS), observation tools, and observation sheet of learning model implementation of POGIL. The result of the research shows that the application of Learning Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) model can improve students' cognitive and KPS skills compared to conventional model. These results indicate that the potential of POGIL learning model as one of the learning models that can improve students' cognitive and KPS skills.
