Abstract
Media informasi yang tersedia untuk memberikan edukasi kepada remaja terhadap pentingnya pelestarian satwa liar, khususnya satwa primata Owa Jawa di Indonesia belum optimal. Diperlukan medika edukasi yang mampu menjangkau kalangan remaja seperti video yang dapat diakses diberbagai platform. Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana langkah dalam pembuatan dan distribusi video kepada remaja sebagai media edukasi pengenalan satwa langka khususnya primata Owa Jawa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kontribusi positif dalam memperkaya bahan penyadartahuan sebagai upaya meningkatkan dan membangun kesadaran masyarakat luas khususnya remaja untuk mengenal dan meningkatkan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya pelestarian Owa Jawa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu practice-led research, metode ini mempunyai fokus pada penciptaaan karya. Hasil dari penelitian yang diperoleh, video yang dirancang melalui lima tahapan, yaitu tahap persiapan, tahap mengimajinasi, tahap pengembangan imajinasi, tahap pengerjaan, hingga hasil karya melalui distribusi dan apresiasi. Distribusi yang dilakukan melalui platform Youtube sebagai tempat memublikasikan video tersebut, serta apresiasi yang diberikan oleh beberapa orang yang telah menonton video menunjukkan bahwa video tersebut dapat menambah pengetahuan tentang satwa primata Owa Jawa. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa video “Pelestarian Owa Jawa” berhasil dapat menambah pengetahuan sebagai penyadartahuan untuk mengedukasi tentang satwa langka yang hampir punah yaitu pengenalan primata Owa Jawa dan pentingnya menjaga pelestarian satwa yang dilindungi. --------------- The information media available to educate adolescents on the importance of conserving wild animals, particularly the Javan Gibbon primate in Indonesia, are not optimal. Media education is needed to reach adolescents, such as through videos accessed on various platforms. This study discusses the steps in making and distributing video to adolescents as educational media for the introduction of endangered species, especially the Javan Gibbon. This research aims to make a positive contribution by enriching awareness-raising materials in an effort to improve public awareness, especially among teenagers, to recognize dan increase knowledge about the importance of preserving the Javan gibbon. The research method used is practice-led research; this method has focus on creation of works. According to the results of the research obtained, the video was designed through five stages: the preparation stage, the imagination stage, the imagination development stage, the work stage, and the work through distribution and appreciation. The distribution that was carried out through the Youtube platform as a place to publish the video, as well as the appreciation given by several people who had watched the video, showed that the video could increase knowledge about the Javan Gibbon primate. The conclusions obtained show that the video "Pelestarian Owa Jawa" has succeeded in increasing knowledge and awareness to educate about endangered species that are almost extinct, namely the introduction of the Javan Owa primate and the importance of preserving protected animals.
