Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kemampuan anak dalam pemahaman kosakata dalam bahasa Inggris antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan dengan menggunakan aplikasi Wordwall serta untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan permainan pada aplikasi Wordwall sebagai media pengenalan kosakata bahasa Inggris bagi anak usia dini. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian pre-eksperimen dengan bentuk one-group pre-test post-test design. Sampel pada penelitian ini terdiri dari 20 orang siswa pada kelas kelompok B usia 5-6 tahun di salah satu PAUD di Kota Bekasi. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode tes secara lisan yang kemudian hasilnya dianalisis menggunakan penghitungan N-Gain, dan uji-T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perolehan nilai rata-rata pre-test yaitu 2,07 dan nilai rata-rata post-test yaitu 3,40. Berdasarkan penghitungan N-Gain, hasil penelitian ini memperoleh skor 0,73 atau 73,24% dimana nilai tersebut termasuk dalam kategori tinggi atau efektif. Berdasarkan hasil uji-T, data pre-test dan post-test mengenai pengenalan kosakata bahasa Inggris melalui aplikasi Wordwall bagi anak usia dini memperoleh nilai signifikasi sebesar 0,001 dengan α = 0,05 sehingga nilai signifikasi hitung uji-T < 0,05. Kesimpulannya bahwa adanya pengaruh pengenalan kosakata bahasa Inggris anak sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan aplikasi Wordwall. Kata Kunci: Aplikasi Wordwall, Kosakata Bahasa Inggris, Anak Usia Dini ----- This study aims to identify children's ability to understand vocabulary in English between before and after being given treatment using the Wordwall application and to determine the effectiveness of using games on the Wordwall application as a medium for introducing English vocabulary for early childhood. This type of research is pre-experimental research with the form of a one-group pre-test post-test design. The sample in this study consisted of 20 students in group B aged 5-6 years at one of the PAUD in Bekasi City. Collecting data in this study used the oral test method which then the results were analyzed using the N-Gain calculation and T-test. The results showed that the average pre-test score was 2.07 and the post-test average score was 3.40. Based on the N-Gain calculation, the results of this study obtained a score of 0.73 or 73.24% where this value is included in the high or effective category. Based on the results of the T-test, the pre-test and post-test data regarding the introduction of English vocabulary through the Wordwall application for early childhood obtained a significance value of 0.001 with α = 0.05 so that the calculated significance value of the T-test was <0.05. The conclusion is that there is an influence on the introduction of children's English vocabulary before and after using the Wordwall application.
