    Abstract

    This study examines the development of teaching materials for the Indonesian national anthem violin duet for the beginner level. The development of teaching materials is carried out based on students' difficulties in learning teaching materials found in music course institutions and the approach taken in music courses, namely sage on the stage where the role of students is to be passive learners. This study uses the concept of guide on the side for the development of teaching materials for the Indonesian national song violin duet. This study uses the Design Based Research (DBR) method with a qualitative approach. The results of this study were ten Indonesian national songs arranged in a violin duet format, formulated according to the beginner level violin instrument learning competencies. The researcher arranged the Indonesian National song as teaching material for violin duets with a two-part structure A and B. In part A, students played the melody of the national song accompanied by the teacher, then in part B students could act as accompanists or melodic players. Another renewable concept is that students lead their teachers in the duet game. Changing the role of leading gives students a more active role (student centered) in achieving learning objectives in terms of understanding, feeling and awareness. This research is expected to contribute to the development of a more interactive approach to learning violin instruments and involving students actively. Through the use of Indonesian national songs as learning content, students can develop skills in playing the violin while appreciating the richness of Indonesian music. In addition, the use of this duet teaching material is also expected to strengthen collaboration between students and teachers and increase their learning motivation in learning the violin instrument.
