Abstract

Pada saat ini kesejahteraan manusia diukur dari pendidikannya. Tentu saja berkualitas tidaknya pendidikan yang didapatkan di sekolah menentukan tingkat kesejahteraan seseorang. Oleh karena itu untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan guru memerlukan strategi pembelajaran yang tepat agar proses belajar mengajar dapat berjalan dengan baik. Namun, sering kali proses belajar mengajar tidak berjalan sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Seperti permasalahan yang terjadi di kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Tenjonagara berkaitan dengan hasil belajar peserta didik dalam kemampuan kognitif, dikarenakan peserta didik kesulitan dalam menjawab apa yang ditanyakan oleh guru dan mengemukakan pendapatnya atas apa yang mereka tulis di buku, sehingga menyebabkan hasil belajar dalam kemampuan kognitif menjadi kurang baik. Peserta didik perlu dibantu untuk bertindak secara aktif baik secara fisik, intelektual, maupun emosional melalui pembelajaran yang efektif. Penggunaan metode Time Token dalam pembelajaran diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi pada permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh metode Time Token terhadap kemampuan kognitif peserta didik dalam mata pelajaran IPS di Kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Tenjonagara Kecamatan Cigalontang Kabupaten Tasikamalaya. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental design dengan tipe one group pretest-posttest. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas I-VI di SDN 1 Tenjonagara dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu simple random sampling maka sampel penelitian ini adalah murid kelas IV di SDN 1 Tenjonagara. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan dokumentasi, instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar tes berjumlah 10 nomor pilihan ganda dan dokumentasi untuk menunjang kelengkapan pengambilan data. Kemudian analisis data kuantitaif menggunakan Microsoft Excel dan SPSS versi 26 for windows. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dan hasil analisis, terjadi peningkatan kemampuan kognitif peserta didik melalui hasil pre-test kemudian post-test pada materi mata pelajaran IPS setelah diterapkannya metode Time Token. Dengan demikian metode Time Token secara signifikan dapat berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan kognitif peserta didik pada materi mata pelajaran IPS di kelas IV SD Negeri 1 Tenjonagara. Learners need to be assisted to act actively both physically, intellectually and emotionally through effective learning. The use of the Time Token method in learning is expected to be a solution to this problem. This study aims to describe the effect of the Time Token method on students' cognitive abilities in Social Science subjects in Grade IV Elementary School 1 Tenjonagara, Cigalontang District, Tasikamalaya Regency. The research method used was a pre-experimental design with one group pretestposttest type. The population in this study were all students of class I-VI Elementary School 1 Tenjonagara. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. The sample of this research was fourth grade students at Elementary School 1 Tenjonagara. Data collection techniques used tests and documentation, research instruments used test sheets totaling 10 multiple choice numbers and documentation to support the completeness of data retrieval. Then analysis of quantitative data using Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 26 for windows. Based on the data obtained and the results of the analysis, there was an increase in students' cognitive abilities through the results of the pre-test and then post-test on Social Sciences subject matter after applying the Time Token method. Thus the Time Token method can significantly influence students' cognitive abilities in Social Science subjects in class IV Elementary School Tenjonagara
