Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan smartphone dan interaksi sosial pada mahasiswa di program studi Psikologi di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Pengumpulan data menggunakan rating scale yang meliputi skala intensitas penggunaan smartphone dengan koefisien reliabilitas 0.914 dan skala interaksi sosial dengan koefisien reliabilitas 0.819. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada 219 mahasiswa program studi psikologi di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini terdapat hubungan antara intensitas penggunaan smartphone dengan interaksi sosial pada mahasiswa program studi psikologi Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, dengan korelasi positif 0.202 sig. (0.003) <α (0.05). Korelasi positif ini bisa dikarenakan adanya pengaruh situasi pandemi COVID-19 yang membuat para mahasiswa sudah beradaptasi dengan intensitas penggunaan smartphone. Kata Kunci : intensitas penggunaan smartphone, interaksi sosial This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of smartphone use and social interaction among Psychology students at the University of Education Indonesia. Data collection uses a rating scale which includes the intensity scale of smartphone use with a reliability coefficient of 0.914 and a social interaction scale of with a reliability coefficient of 0.819. This research was conducted on 219 of the Psychology Student, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The results of this study found a relationship between the intensity of smartphone use and social interaction in Psychology students at the Indonesian Education University, with a positive correlation of 0.202 sig. (0.003) <α (0.05). This positive correlation can be due to the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic situation which has made students adapt to the intensity of smartphone use.
