Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan media komik digital berbasis platform LINE Webtoon terhadap minat belajar peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen kuasi. Adapun rancangan penelitian menggunakan Nonequivalent-Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terbagi ke dalam dua kelas, yakni kelas eksperimen yang diberikan perlakuan berupa media komik digital berbasis platform LINE Webtoon dan kelas kontrol menggunakan PowerPoint. Variabel minat belajar sebagai variabel akibat diukur dengan menggunakan instrumen angket yang meliputi empat indikator minat belajar, di antaranya 1) rasa senang terhadap pembelajaran, 2) ketertarikan dalam pembelajaran, 3) perhatian dalam pembelajaran, dan 4) keterlibatan dalam pembelajaran. Dilakukan pula pengukuran persepsi peserta didik terhadap penggunaan komik LINE Webtoon sebagai media dalam pembelajaran IPS. Perolehan hasil penelitian diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik parametrik dan non parametrik meliputi uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, serta uji hipotesis yang terdiri dari paired sample t test, independent sampe t test, dan uji wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) terdapat perbedaan tingkat minat belajar peserta didik pada saat praperlakuan dan pascaperlakuan pada kelas eksperimen dengan taraf signifikansi (0,000); 2) terdapat perbedaan tingkat minat belajar peserta didik pada saat praperlakuan dan pascaperlakuan pada kelas kontrol dengan taraf signifikansi (0,000); 3) tidak ditemukan adanya perbedaan tingkat minat belajar peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol; dan 4) terdapat respon positif peserta didik terhadap komik digital berbasis platform LINE Webtoon dengan persentase sebesar 80% serta dianggap sebagai media yang memiliki relevansi dengan karakteristik peserta didik era digital dengan skor rata-rata tertinggi pada indikator kemudahan penggunaan sebesar 24,9 dan ilustrasi gambar sebesar 24,8. Kata Kunci: komik LINE Webtoon, minat belajar, media pembelajaran, pembelajaran IPS This study aimed to analyze the effect of using digital comic media based on the LINE Webtoon platform on students' learning interest in social studies learning. This research approach is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method using a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample was divided into two classes, namely the experimental class which was given treatment in the form of digital comic media based on the LINE Webtoon platform and the control class using PowerPoint. The variable of learning interest as an outcome variable was measured using a questionnaire instrument which includes four indicators of interest in learning, including: 1) pleasure in learning, 2) interest in learning, 3) attention in learning, and 4) involvement in learning. The measurement was also carried out to determine students' perceptions of the use of LINE Webtoon comics as a tool in social studies learning. The research results were processed and analyzed using parametric and non-parametric statistical analysis including normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing consisting of paired sample t test, independent sample t test, and wilcoxon test. The results showed that: 1) there was difference in the level of students’ learning interest at the time of pre-treatment and post-treatment in the experimental class with a significance level (0,000); 2) there was difference in the level of students’ learning interest at the time of pre-treatment and post-treatment in the control class with a significance level (0,000), 3) there was no difference in the level of students’ learning interest between the experimental class and the control class; and 4) there was a positive response from students to digital comics based on the LINE Webtoon platform with a percentage of 80% and it's considered a medium that has relevance to the characteristics of students in the digital era with the highest average score on the ease of use indicator of 24.9 and illustration of images of 24, 8.
