Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis berita siswa dan pentingnya suatu model pembelajaran yang menarik dalam proses belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menulis berita sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model Picture and Picture dan beda signifikan yang muncul antara hasil belajar menulis berita sebelum dan setelah menggunakan model Picture and Picture. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen. Modél yang diuji cobakan, yaitu dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Picture and Picture. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 1 Cikajangkelas IX B. Sumber data didapatkan dari hasil menulis berita siswa kelas IX B SMP Negeri 1 Cikajang yang berjumlah 34 orang. Sedangkan teknik yang digunakan di dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik tes. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar tes dan gambar. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa (1) adanya perbedaan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis berita antara sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model Picture and Picture, (2) meningkatnya hasil uji gain menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model Picture and Picture, yaitu meningkat dari 66% menjadi 77,65% dengan beda 11,65%, dan (3) dari hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh t hitung(14,2 ) >ttabel(2,46), hal ini menyatakan bahwa hipotesis kerja (Ha ) diterima dan hipotesis nol (H 0) ditolak. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Picture and Picture dapat digunakanuntuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis warta. Kata Kunci: model Picture and Picture, nulis warta This research is aimed to find out the effects picture and picture learning model as a model of teaching in writing news. The methodology used in this research is quasi-experimental design. The model used in thid research is model picture and picture in teaching writing news for grade IX at SMPN 1 Cikajang which is included 34 students. The technique used in this study is a test technique. The instrument used in this study are picture and test sheets. The implementation of the action that has been done was managed to overcome the problem in this research which is finding out the effects of model picture and picture in the teaching writing news. From this research it can be concluded that (1) there is a difference in students abilities in writing news between before and after using the model picture and picture, (2) an increase of the gain test result showed that there is a significant difference between the ability before and after using the model picture and picture, which increased from 66% to 77,65% with a 11,65% difference, and (3) from the hypothesis test result obtained thitung(14,2 ) >ttabel(2,46), it indicated that the hipotesiskerja (working hypothesis) (Ha ) is accepted and the hipotesisnol (null hypothesis) (H 0) is rejected.
