Abstract
ABSTRAK Di Indonesia terdapat asumsi gender yang menetapkan bahwa tugas utama wanita yaitu mengasuh anak, sehingga ketika seorang ibu memiliki profesi sebagai wanita karir sering dikatakan bahwa ibu tersebut memiliki peran ganda. Dimana seorang ibu yang bekerja akan membagi perhatiannya untuk pekerjaan dan keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana ibu berkarir melakukan pengasuhan ditengah kesibukannya dalam pekerjaan, kesulitan apa yang dihadapi ibu berkarir dalam melakukan pengasuhan dan apa yang menjadi alasan seorang ibu berkarir. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kasus pada tiga responden yang memiliki anak usia dini dengan menggunakan wawancara dalam tekhnik pengumpulan datanya, serta menggunakan grounded theory dalam proses analisis data yang dihasilkan. Hasil penelitian kepada tiga responden ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat alasan ibu berkarir yaitu berawal dari mengaktualisasikan diri karna senang bekerja di bidang yang diminati, akan tetapi setalah memiliki anak alasan tersebut berubah menajadi alasan kebutuhan ekonomi keluarga salah satunya untuk memenuhi segala kebutuhan anak mulai dari kebutuhan dasar anak sampai kebutuhan pendidikan. Kemudian dalam penelitian ini terdapat pula pandangan mengenai ibu yang harus bekerja domestik dan terdapat pula pandangan bahwa ayah perlu dilibatkan dalam proses pengasuhan. Lalu terdapat strategi-strategi pengasuhan yang dapat dilakukan ibu berkarir. Selain itu, terdapat pula kesulitan yang dialami ibu berkarir yaitu terkait waktu yang terbatas bersama anak, perasaan bersalah dan muncul rasa lelah ketika pulang kerumah karna padatnya aktifitas dalam bekerja. Kata Kunci : Pengasuhan anak usia dini, Ibu berkarir ABSTRACT In Indonesia, there is a gender assumption stated that the main responsibility for women is to take care of the children. Furthermore, a woman who has a job or known as a career woman is faced with multiple responsibilities where she should pay attention to the family and her job. This research aims to know how career women do parenting while they are busy at work, what are their troubles in doing parenting, and what are their reasons to become career women. The research method that is used in this research is a case study from three respondents who have children in the family. The data were gained by interviewing and grounded theory was used in analyzing the data. The results show that the three respondents’ main reason for becoming career women was self-actualization since they love their jobs, but after having a child, the reason changes to become the family’s economic needs. One of them is to fulfill their children’s needs from the basic to educational needs. Then in this study, there is also a view about mothers who have to do domestic works and a view that fathers who need also to be involved in the parenting process. There are parenting strategies that can be adopted by career mothers. In addition, there are also difficulties experienced by career women. Some of them are lack spending time with their children and having the feeling of fatigue and guilty when they went back home due to their activities at work.
