    Abstract

    Kecerdasan emosional pada anak usia dini tidak dimiliki oleh anak secara alami, tetapi harus ditumbuhkan dan dikembangkan oleh orangtua, pengasuh, maupun pendidik AUD (Nurjannah, 2017:60). Sejauh ini metode yang paling populer untuk digunakan mengembangkan kecerdasan emosional AUD adalah melalui read aloud dan storytelling. Pada kenyataannya di lembaga PAUD masih sering dijumpai pembelajaran menggunakan metode storytelling dengan media yang kurang menarik minat anak, sehingga anak cepat merasa bosan dan anak sulit memahami isi cerita. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengkaji isi dari buku cerita berjudul “Semut dan Belalang” untuk ditelaah apakah isi ceritanya sesuai untuk dijadikan media pembelajaran bagi AUD, khususnya untuk mengembangkan aspek-aspek kecerdasan emosional AUD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil dari analisis terhadap buku cerita “Semut dan Belalang”, diperoleh beberapa temuan yakni cerita “Semut dan Belalang” dipaparkan dalam bahasa yang ringan dan struktur kalimat yang sederhana, alurnya juga tidak berbelit-belit sehingga mudah dipahami oleh AUD. Pada karakter tokoh cerita dan pesan moral yang terkandung, adanya kesesuaian dengan aspek-aspek kecerdasan emosional anak. Dan dianggap layak memenuhi syarat untuk dijadikan media pembelajaran bagi AUD khususnya dalam aktivitas yang berhubungan dengan upaya pengembangan kecerdasan emosional AUD.

    Emotional intelligence in early childhood is not naturally owned by children, but must be cultivated and developed by parents, caregivers, and early childhood educators (Nurjannah, 2017:60). So far, the most popular method used to develop emotional intelligence in early childhood is reading aloud and storytelling. In fact, in early childhood education institutions, learning is often found using the storytelling method with media that does not attract children's interest, so that children quickly feel bored and children find it difficult to understand the contents of the story. The purpose of this study is to examine the contents of the story book entitled "ants and grasshoppers" to examine whether the contents of the story are suitable to be used as learning media for early childhood, especially for developing aspects of emotional intelligence in early childhood. This study uses a content analysis method with a qualitative approach. The results of the analysis of the "ants and grasshoppers" storybook found several findings, namely the "ant and grasshopper" story presented in light language and simple sentence structure, the plot is also not convoluted so that it is easily understood by early childhood. on the character of the story and the moral messages contained, there is a conformity with the emotional intelligence aspects of the child. and deemed worthy of fulfilling the requirements to be used as learning media for early childhood, especially in activities related to the development of emotional intelligence in early childhood.
