Abstract
Kata Kunci: Challenge Based Learning, Edmodo, Penguasaan Konsep, Keterampilan Komunikasi ilmiah. Concept mastery is one an essential part of physics learning purpose. The student concept mastery impacting the student’s advanced scientific communication skill. These skill are needed in 21st century. This research aim to know the increase physics concept mastery of SMK and identifiying the characteristics of student’s saintific skill as written and spoken through challenge based learning (CBL) with the help of edmodo. The method of this research is mixed methode with embedded experimental model research designs. The research take place at one of SMK in bungo, jambi province. The research sample consists of 26 students (5 male student and 21 female student) on program agribisnis tanaman pangan dan hortikultura (ATPH) in class X. Research instruments consist of 18 questions, the scientific communication skills assesment is written and spoken. Research data was analyzed using a model Rasch with version 4.4.1 winsteps software. The result of this study found that student concept mastery through challange based learning with the help of edmodo significantly increased but more widespread and grouped. The students scientific communication skill characteristics either in writing or speech divide into group of highly skilled, skilled, sufficiently acquired and less skillful. Keywords: Challenge Based Learning, Edmodo, Concepts Mastery, Science Communication Skills
