Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kembali pengetahuan prosedural dan keterampilan riset siswa yang ditinjau berdasarkan aspek gender pada pembelajaran Biologi. Pembelajaran Biologi yang digunakan adalah sub materi uji zat makanan sebagai bagian dari materi sistem pencernaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deksriptif dengan pendekatan re-analisis. Pendekatan re-analisis dilakukan sebagai penguatan temuan dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah data pengetahuan prosedural dan keterampilan riset siswa kelas XI SMA di Bandung Barat dari penelitian A dan penelitian B. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu data pengetahuan prosedural dan keterampilan riset pada tiga aspek yaitu keterampilan merumuskan masalah, keterampilan membuat hipotesis, dan keterampilan merancang percobaan. Berdasakan hasil re-analisis yang dilakukan, diperoleh bahwa siswa perempuan cenderung lebih unggul daripada siswa laki-laki pada dua aspek keterampilan dari total tiga aspek keterampilan yang diukur, yaitu pada aspek keterampilan merumuskan masalah (x ̅ perempuan= ±94,17; x ̅ laki-laki= ±89,58) dan keterampilan membuat hipotesis (x ̅ perempuan= ±75; x ̅ laki-laki= ±72,91). Sedangkan pada aspek merancang percobaan cenderung berimbang antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan (x ̅ perempuan= ±73,45; x ̅ laki-laki= ±71,94). Unggul dalam dua aspek keterampilan, membuat siswa perempuan juga cenderun lebih unggul pada pengetahuan prosedual. Perhitungan effect size dilakukan untuk mengetahui besar efek yang dihasilkan dari masing-masing kelas penelitian. Hasil perhitungan effect size yaitu sebesar 3,52 bagi kelompok laki-laki dan 2,89 pada kelompok perempuan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan penelitian B lebih dapat membekali pengetahuan prosedural dan keterampilan riset siswa laki-laki dan perempuan. The study aims to re-analyze the procedural knowledge and research skills of students who are reviewed based on the gender aspects of biological learning. Biological learning which was conducted used is sub-material of food substance testing as part of the digestive system material. The method of study used is a descriptive method with a re-analysis approach. The re-analysis approach was conducted as a reinforcement of findings from previous studies. The population of this study is the procedural knowledge data and student research skills of grade XI of Senior High School in West Bandung from Research A and Research B. The samples used are procedural knowledge data and research skills on three aspects that are problem-formulating skills, hypothesis making skills, and experimental designing skills. Based on the results of the re-analysis, it is found that female students tend to get higher result than male students on two aspects from three aspects measured in total, that are formulating problems aspect (x ̅ female = ± 94.17; x ̅ male = ± 89.58) and making hypothesis skills (x ̅ female = ± 75; x ̅ male = ± 72.91). Meanwhile, it terms of designing experimental aspect, it is found that the result tends to be balanced among male and female students (x ̅ females = ± 73.45; x ̅ males = ± 71.94). Excelling in two aspects of skills, also makes female students tend to be more excellent in the procedural knowledge. The effect size measurement is conducted to know the effect resulted from each research class. The result of the effect size measurement that are 3.52 for male group and 2.89 for female group shows that the use of research B is more capable to equip the procedural knowledge and research skills of male and female students.
