Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi learning obstacle yang dialami siswa SMP pada materi lingkaran berdasarkan perspektif standar tes PISA konten materi space and shape dan implikasinya terhadap desain pembelajaran. Analisis dilakukan melalui kajian literatur dan uji learning obstacle dengan melibatkan 62 responden yang terdiri dari siswa kelas 8 dan 9. Analisis lebih dalam dilakukan dengan mewawancarai beberapa orang siswa pilihan yang memiliki karakteristik jawaban unik. Adapun melalui penelitian ini karakteristik learning obstacle yang teridentifikasi adalah epistemological obstacle, ontogenic obstacle, dan didactical obstacle. Epistemological obstacle yang teridentifikasi berkaitan dengan pengetahuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah yang berkaitan dengan materi lingkaran. Ontogenic obstacle berkaitan dengan soal-soal yang diberikan dalam proses pembelajaran yang terlalu mudah dan tidak sesuai dengan kemampuan mental siswa. Sedangkan didactical obstacle berkaitan dengan keterbatasan konteks soal yang diberikan pada siswa serta alur pembelajaran yang disajikan buku teks. Implikasi learning obstacle terhadap desain pembelajaran disajikan dalam bentuk hypothetical learning trajectory yang dirancang sedemikian rupa agar sesuai dengan standar kurikulum dan PISA. This research aims to identify learning obstacle experienced by junior high school students in circle concept based on perspective of PISA test standard especially in space and shape content and its implications for lesson design. The analysis of this research is done through literature study and result of learning obstacle test involving 62 respondent that consist of 8th grade and 9th grade junior high school students. The deep analysis is done through interviewing some selected students that have unique answer. Through this research, the characteristic of learning obstacle identified are epistemological obstacle, ontogenic obstacle, and didactical obstacle. The identified epistemological obstacle is related by student’s knowledge in solving a circle concept problem. The ontogenic obstacle is related by question given to students in learning process that too easy and not suitable for their mental ability . Meanwhile, the didactical obstacle is related by limited context of question given to students and learning trajectory presented in textbook. The implications of learning obstacle to lesson design are presented in the form of hypothetical learning trajectory which is designed in such a way to suit the curriculum standard and PISA.
